3x WD multiboxing video

  • #1
I decided to figure out a way to multibox in diablo 3. I doubt I will do it at launch, but there was enough interest for me to find a way. I chose to keep it simple and used a kvm switch with mirror capability. This means you must use 3 computers with 3 monitors. I also have a mouse attached to each one so that I can easily sync the characters. The biggest downfall of multiboxing in Diablo 3 is characters getting out of sync. You have to use terrain or mouse clicks to get back on top of each other. It really is a pain. You will see in my video where this happens and when I try to sync back up. The first video is just random combat. The second is the level up to SK and killing SK. The SK fight was a little out of hand as he one shots your pets. I just started playing 3 toons a few days ago so I am not very good at it yet either.

If you have any questions or want to see a different class let me know. I don't plan on doing any melee characters as it would be too hard.

I can see how this could be a pain in the butt. But, is it really worth it buying three copies of Diablo 3?

I doubt I will do it when the game launches. I did it during wow just for fun. There have been many post asking if it was possible and how to do it. I figured I would show one way to do it and give people a place to start. Really the only time I think I will be doing this is to lvl my wife's character with mine when she can't play

This thread really isn't about if multiboxing should be legal, or worth buying multiple accounts. Its really just to show it is possible and let people discus ways to do it or ask questions on how to pull it off. Do not turn it into a debate or crap fest.

Urg, it looks like it is a pain in the a**. According to your video. Though, kudos on doing it, but I will just stick to my one character.

I'm sure there is ways to improve multiboxing. Maybe, coding a mod to help get the heros in sync and pick up seperate items. Blizzard didn't say mods aren't allowed, they just said they don't support them.

Lol me too. I plan on playing a barb on start and my wife is playing a DH. I tried to lvl melee characters and it made me want to cry. Mages worked well. In fact I think mages will be much better than WD due to their higher damage and cc.

They did however make 3rd party software bannable in the terms of agreement

    Haters gonna hate.

Thought it was a cool video, I haven't seen anyone post a video on multiboxing yet.

Must be difficult to pick up all the individualized loot, though.

Honestly the loot thing wasnt too bad. I have all the screens on my desk and most loot falls in the same spot. The hard part is the fact that so much white loot drops. If they add a loot filter like in d2 then it will be much better. Once in town I just throw all blues on the ground then use my main to sort through them and outfit the chars.

Sure. There is a guy on the bliz forum who is doing it all through software and 1 computer running Virtual machines. If your ok with doing it with multiple computers and less software than I will write one up.

Here is a link to his thread on the bliz forum http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4175829121?page=1

Those are called cheats in diablo.
One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away.
A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!

Again this thread is not about if you should multibox, if it will be legal, or how you feel its bad. It is simply to show it can be done since I have had several request from many sites asking about it. If you have questions or whould like to see a different class let me know. If it is just going to turn into a thread crap fest then I will not be back.

Yet several people cant quite grasp the reasoning behind this. :)

I personally wouldn't try this in D3, i wouldn't see the point in leveling 3 of the same characters, and i imagine it would be quite difficult when using separate classes for this, id rather enjoy leveling them individually but if i where in the same situation as you where, leveling your wife's character when shes not around, i would consider looking into it. :)

    A for effort though. :)

And as far as i am aware, multi-boxing is not cheating, the software used is in no way interacting with D3's executable, its simply recording the input from PC#1 and transferring it to PC's #2 and #3.

I would think looting would be a pain in the ass.
I just want a little bit of tenderness :(
