It's a pve theme build for the Demon Hunter i named LolRockets. Mainly centers around the random rocket damage based runestones. Grenades with Tinkerer for the extra hatred generation. Caltrops with the improved slow if things get tricky.
The passives i chose are to mainly improve hatred generation and improve the rocket damage.
My build consists of up close and personal DPS, followed by ranged damage. Bash w/ Punish gives me the ability to increase my damage output with my next skills, depending on what skill I'd like to use afterwards, depends on the situation I'm in. Whirlwind w/ Volcanic Eruption allows me to deal massive damage plus the stacked Punish Runeskill on Bash. Threatening Shout is simple, reducing their attack when activated, but with the Runeskill Falter it also decreases enemies attack speed, so when their in my Barb's face, they're not doing that much damage to me. Weapon throw, my first ranged DPS skill for my Barb, I chose to equip it with the Mighty Throw Runeskill because I want Mighty Throw to purely dish out damage for ranged purposes. Ancient Spear is simple, a mob is too far away? Nah, let this loose and bring him right into your range, and equipped with the Grappling Hooks Runeskill bring back more than one mob on hit. Now last but not least, the Earthquake skill is another massive damage doer, I let this one go when I'm closed in by mobs, also equipped it with the Runeskill Chilling Earth to slow their movements so I could possibly back up and re-position, Ancient Spearing or using Whirlwind, depending what I feel like using. Now on to the passive abilities, now the first two passives benefits my skills in a huge way, like Brawler which increases my damage when there are more than three enemies within 8 yards of me, this is Diablo, there will always be more than three enemies within 8 yards. The passive No Escape benefits Ancient Spear and Weapon throw with resetting the cooldown of Ancient Spear when a successful critical hit happens, and returns fury when I nail a critical hit with Weapon Throw. Juggernaut is another very simple passive, it decreases the duration of impairing effects by 20% while also given a chance to have 15% of my maximum life returned to me when I'm Stunned, Feared, or Charmed.
I like this build because it caters to Close and Ranged dps and the passives I selected keeps me in battles and gives me additional added damage to my skills. For me this is simply an experimentation, this build might not be the permanent build I'd use for my Barbarian, because the game hasn't been released yet, so you never really know until you get in the game itself.
Hey there guys and girls, first time poster here, very long time reader
Normally I just read the news articles and comments on the mainpage, but this contest I had to enter! Been playing around with the *old* skill/rune talent calculator (on the Ipod, the one from Sixen and OneTwo) for quite some time so here's my insert.
I like melee the classes the most, and as we can enter one build, I have chosen the Barbarian because of the oldschool and Hack 'n Slash feeling, reminds me of the good old days back in Diablo II! Here it goes, I consider this a PvE solo-spec.
I have chosen Frenzy with the Triumph rune because it generates a lot of Fury, increasing the Barbarian's attack speed and heals the Barbarian as well. While I know it's a single-target DPS skill, some of the other skills I've chosen will make up for it with AoE damage.
Hammer of the Ancient is my all time favorite skill, not sure why but it's plain badass and has a lovely sound effect on it as well! I've chosen the roll with the Smash rune because of the extra damage output.
As for the Defensive slot I couldn't resist to pick Leap Attack, awesome ability all-in-all! Along with the Call of Arreat (what's in the name?) rune I hope it'll be that awesome to combine with Hammer of the Ancients when a lot of mobs are pulled towards me because of the rune-effect.
Seismic Slam will provide the extra AoE damage the Barbarian needs with this build, along with the Shattered Ground rune it'll do more damage and increases the knockback to give the Barbarian some more room when needed.
As for the shouts, which I do like a lot, I went for Battle Rage with the Marauder's Rage rune. Battle Rage provides critical hit chance and an increased damage bonus, even more with the rune!
Lastly I've chosen Wrath of the Berserker with the Insanity rune, because of the awesome bonusses is provides. Critital hit chance is really my thing, but the other various bonuses provides a lot of awesomeness to the Barbarian. With the rune added, it provides a whopping 100% more damage as well.
I have chosen these passive skills because Ruthless provides 5% more crititcal hit chance and the critical hit damage is increased by 50%. Lovely when combined with Hammer of the Ancients (that skill keeps coming back!) and Battle Rage/Wrath of the Berserker for a lot of critical hit chance bonus.
The Weapon Master passive would give me various bonuses along the way, depending on my weapon choice. As I like to swing with huge Axes the most, it'll provide me with an extra few percent critical hit chance. If there's a weapon upgrade though, it would give the Barbarian a passive bonus nonetheless.
The last spot is reserved for Brawler. Judging from the youtube playthroughs I've seen, I noticed that monsters mostly come in packs of 4-5 or even more so this will provide an extra 30% damage output.
I am not sure if it's viable at all, but at least it has the abilities that I like a lot and would surely have a ton of fun with it
The idea behind this build is to be somewhat support based while still providing as much benefit to dps as possible. Runes that provide health on hit, along side Breath of Heavens will do most of the healing grunt work. Cycole Strike, and Deadly Reach to do AoE, Lashing Tail Kick for bosses, Dashing Stike to keep mobility high for positioning.
Paired with a WW Barb with some Call of the Ancient focus
The basis of my build is taken from one of the core playstyles of the barbarian in Diablo 2, stack the living hell out of life leech. I'm hoping that the build will be able to make decent progress through inferno, even with the lack of defensive abilities, due to the ability to leech off of multiple mobs, whilst aoeing them down. Included a nice defensive knockback and stun for problem moments, and Wrath of the Berserker for uniques and bosses, to hopefully get them down quickly.
Also a build for my healy build for my Templar to augment the choices I've made for the barbarian.
This build has mobility, furious charge and leap atack.
Lots of aoe damage with cleave + overpower + toppling impact rune.
4 Rage generators to ensure berserker rage.
Battle rage + inspiring presence more damage and life regen.
The main concept of this is that the barb can constantly gain life, then he will be extremely hard to kill. every skill selected grants either % life gain, or dodge.
Since this build does sacrifice damage, it is more of a Tank build over a DPS build (but I personally think thats the entire point of the barb anyway).
It would be best suited for hardcore mode, as it can start life gains at a very low level and has a higher survive-ability. Or for someone who just prefers to take things slower and not die.
(i wouldn't suggest this for PVP as the defensive skills are a bit weak for that, but PVE is easy with this)
This is going be my barb build. I will be playing with my two brothers who will be WD and Monk. Therefore it will be up to me to hold the monsters at bay and use my barb as a tank. I have all possible support options selected to help my brothers along on the quest to rid the world of evil.
I like the build cause it has a mix of everything in it, and its good for charging into the unknown, head on.
So, quick summary:
1. Survivability from wearing shield, War cry and Nerves of steel, party buffer.
2. Good mix of single and AOE damage abilities and damage/crit buffs, synergy (crits and Overpower).
3. Escape or target ranged targets with Leap.
4. And of course, 10% more globes and TREASUREZZZZ:)
Well, this Barbarian build is for PvP and will give you a great amount of stun, defense, damage and HP regen. In my opinion it covers up the most situational skills and runes, which gives you a great amount of endurance.
I can't wait to test it out when the game is finally released. :-)
- Bash with Clobber rune, which gives you 20% chance of stun instead.
- Seismic Slam with Stagger rune - adds a 70% chance of stunning the enemy for 1.5 sec.
- Ignore Pain with Mob Rule rune, which is great for you and your allies. I guess something like Contemt for Weakness would be great vs. melee as well.
- Furious Charge with Juggernaut rune. Regen 6% health when charging - a Stamina rune for generating fury or Battering Ram rune for damage would be great altenatives.
- Revenge with Vengeance is Mine rune - the extra fury generation and life gain from this rune when it becomes active seems to be kind of strong.
- Wrath of the Berserker with Striding Giant rune - the extra add of 60% dodge chance seems great for hectic situations.
- Bloodthirst - 3% of all damage is gained as life.
- Relentless - for hectic situations.
- Juggernaut - reduces control effects on you by 20% and a chance to gain 15% of your max life when feared, charmed etc.
