After watching a lot of skill rune videos and of course thinking how I played sorc in Diablo II, I came up with this build, It's definitely going to be the first build I try in D3!
I kinda wonder why the only signature skill for the wizard class that's elemental is an electricity attack. I figure there should be one ice, one arcane, one fire and one electric.
I was aiming for high damage output and damage avoidance through cold effects.
No idea how many players did this in D2, but I ALWAYS had my mouse 1 button just do a melee attack, I don't know why I didn't change it, but I figure the spectral blades is pretty close to a melee attack and I felt like it would be a comfortable fit with my playstyle.
I haven't played the beta yet so I can't say I have any idea what the playstyle would be like, but from what I've read and seen, it seems like this build or something close to it will be a good match for the way I play Diablo games!
I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the build!

I used ELECTROCUTE for my spammable skill as it is good for taking out mobs and good for single target as well.
I used DISINTEGRATE as my high power single target skill, and has a pierce benefit too.
I used TELEPORT as the 'oh crap!' button, also its good for kiting and its defensive rune helps a lot.
I used ARCANE ORB with arcane nova rune as my aoe skill. It does massive damage over a huge radius and is like a cheap and cooldownless wave of force.
I used ENERGY ARMOR as my defensive armor skill with the rune for adding AP instead of subracting it because 65% is a ton of additional armor, good for anything really.
Lastly, used ARCHON for that time when I just want to OBLITERATE either in pvp, a boss fight or even a yellow or blue mob.
My passives are GLASS CANNON, BLUR, and ASTRAL PRESENCE: blur makes up and adds for the defense lost with glass cannon, increasing my damage and defense overall. Astral presence makes it so I can use arcane orb and disintegrate a lot more.
The idea for this is being a total beast when it comes to PVE, with fairly low damage but incredible survivability. As I do not have the beta I have no idea if this will work but I've always been drawn to tanks in games so this is probably one of the first I'd try. I just took every single thing that looked tanky on a monk to try and get as much dodge chance and armor as possible. Gear would also be tailored for this purpose to become a total powerhouse! In theory.
okay so i've only played normal d2 so bare with me here but think I will really like this build.
This is a PVE build i've made. I've set it up for some great aoe with some okay single target, this is because in d2 I had a hard time with large packs because i was always using single target abilities such as teeth, firebolt or bash, so in d3 im going for that aoe approach.
As you can see I plan on completely avoiding damage by slowing time and dodging incoming arrows and what-not and kiting melee add through the slow time for extra damage because of my rune. I will most likely be using maybe a 2h for big resource spending abilities such as orb and meteor and being able to cast them more often by reducing the cost of meteor and increasing the amount of arcane power I have rather than go for straight up damage. For cases when I do get surrounded I have my wave of force to push back all enemies and so they may be pushed back even further by going for the exploding waves rune to keep them well away from my glass cannon of a wizard who will be spamming electrocute which look amazing from the gameplay I have seen. Can't wait to try it out in game

I built this as I always liked begin a glass cannon, focus more on damage output and use your mousing skill to stay survive longer without much survival skills.
I hope it'll be of use while playing solo as I progress and farm gear through higher difficulties. I guess I'd say it's centred around avoidance, control and kiting and makes use of what I consider to be some of the 'cooler', more fun spells like Meteor, Hydra and Archon.
As a complete Diablo virgin I read the descriptions and tried to make a decent damager with good resource gain and the occasional heal for me and any friends along the way.
I do like to say that this will be pretty much the build I'm gonna use the fist two playthrough, maybe few minor changes in the rune department but I'm gonna use a lot of zombies. I love it and I will stick to it unless it put me in disadvantage then I will replace things to suite the situation. I'm into PvE and I probably gonna do it co-op with my guildies. I loved the necromancer and I really was upset that he wont be around this time, but I also like the Witch Docta, he's cool and has the tools. Swarm of poisonous insects and hordes of zombies is my kinda thing. Don't forget the poison dart I'm going to have the time of my life with my Witchdocta!
I decide to make a a barbarian that uses his aoe capability to slaughter groups of enimies by choosing whrilwind as my main offencive ability. i selected the other skills to support whirlwhild. Leap attack and ground stomp both have a pulling affect witch is done by the rune and is uniqly amazing to this kind of build. useing leep attack to jump right in the middle of a group of enemis pulling them closer to the barbarian and the using grond stomp witch with the right rune also pulls the enimies closer and have a chance of stunning them gives my whirlwind a perfect setup to just roll over massiv gruops of enemies quite quickly. this build is designed of pve, with that moto of being the initiator and setting up great packs of enemis witch can be delt with even faster in a group.
by boosting his damage with warcry and battlerage and using earthquake with chilling earth's rune he can make enemis movment quite limited and a whirlwind barbarian uses his mobilization to his advantage by spining around doing a good deal of damage to all enemies around him.
here you can see witch skills and runes i have selected for this build
An AoE, mass slaughter barbarian build - lots of close-range AoE abilties, that could cause more AoE on hit/kill, and a few abilities to make sure enemies don't get away or stay away. Would be using one/dual axes ideally for the crit bonus. No defensives because, well - who has time to bleed when there's killin' to be done, right?
So the basic idea behind this build is me and some friend were talking and wanted to get a group going and get 3 really high damage output characters and then a pure support who would stack MF while just helping out the group. In theory he wouldn't be putting much damage simply support while finding the best loot and trying to make us a little extra money on the side. After going through the WD and Monk talent trees this build seems the most promising to us for pure support, any suggestions ?
The skill build is based on keeping the enemy at a distance while fireing aoe spells. Some skills may be changed in boss encounters, assuming there will be one or more much stronger mobs instead of several weaker mobs.
For the moment this is what my Barbarian spec should look like. I know it is not the best spec and theory crafting will make it look bad, but I like the idea of it. This is not for Co-op or anything else above just solo farm - run in - kill - loot. I focus mostly on AoE damage with cleave and WW. Taking ignore pain with runed revenge to reduce damage and generate fury, when and if I'm going to find myself in a big pack of enemies.

Heavy ranged AOE to be used when playing solo or coop with a friend. Would probably go well paired with a melee based class.
moderate aoes, but very strong at kiting and killing elites / bosses

This is my best build !!!!
My PvE spec. Unfortunately I haven't tested any skills yet, which is why I would PLEASE like to get into the beta
High damage solo Wizard build.
This will be my monk built for hardcore mode. I focused heavily on survivability, healing and reducing enemy damage.
