Since Diablo 3 will have real money AH, we might expect some problems with safety, especially if they implement money withdraw. WoW is nothing compared to this, this can and will attract a lot of attention to hackers, so i think that Blizzard will struggle to keep this safe. We all know that WoW was safe, but stakes weren't that high compared to D3.
I think that their security will be pretty high. On the other hand I believe that people who use the RMAH should have an authenticator for further security mesures. I know Im certaintly going to use one

I'm not thinking about account hacking, well that too, but still there are at least 10-20 hackers on the world that can hack almost everything, even more, but i think that blizzard calculated their loss before even announcing RMAH.
I think on the user-end it'll be safe. I am curious however, if this will put a spotlight on Blizzard. I don't think I have to remind everyone about the PSN hacker-induced outtage, or the more recent Steam intrusion. To date, I don't think Blizzard have had these problems and in my opinion it lends huge credit to their security staff.
Long live to see, it's only beta and people are trying to hack, what its gonna be when they realese d3, people will try to find as many exploits they can just to find a way to earn money, maybe not at the begging, but if they ever implement withdraw, that could be a problem.

Yeah, you are right, but again WoW was nothing compared to this, I do know few people that can give you a monthly subscription for gold, something with refeeral system, i don't know how, but you can get as much as you can.
For Blizzard to implement a system of this scale would have taken considerable planning and a security system that's capable of handling all the issues that could arise. Does that mean it's 100% safe? No, no software ever is. That is why off the top of my head I'm sure there are smaller safe guards - such as how much money can be deposited and withdrawn each day?
Do not worry about the financial system, the likely hood of you personally getting attacked through Blizzard would be pretty slim. Making sure you safeguard yourself though through the use of an Anti-virus/firewall/watching what you download and sites you visit will also safe guard you against any possible intrusions.
Well, they probably considered all security messures, after all they are developing this game for a long time. Btw i don't mean on end user getting hacked, i mean on servers getting hacked.
As safe as blizzard can make it. If that is enough is still to be seen. Of course none of this is relevant if the user is incapable of keeping the most basic security protocols

No piece of software is 100% secure, this has been proven time and time again. I'm sure Blizzard has taken as many preventative measures as possible, such as a secure encryption and the obvious firewalls to safe guard peoples information.
Yep, thats why i made this topic, because we all know that nothing is 100% secure. I think we can expect some hacking at least after realese of the game, or even later, when hackers that are really good, find some kind of exploits/bugs.
On the topic of;
Withdraw
You can only withdraw money on the spot from a transaction, otherwise it goes to your account. This mitigates the return of snatching someone's account.
Security best practices;
Last time I check WoW still does not use upper and lower case characters, this is piss poor practice. Most companies perform security through obscurity. The reason PSN had issues, was someone that knew a little something found a mistake and poor practice and exploited this. By no means where they an expert. Most major sites that go down are due to someone who doesn't know better.
Don't just assume a large company has done everything right because they are large or well known.
Authenticators
Most of the compromised accounts are due to man in the middle attacks, and client side skimming. While this does give an attacker a much smaller window of opportunity, it is not the end all be all. Be smart with your account to mitigate problems, which includes changing passwords, using phrases over just words, and change your password per account.
Server-side Attacks
This is where most of the precautions need to be in place. As someone getting and changing number could result in the biggest problems. However as we can see with WoW and other systems, they tend to be pretty stable with minimal data intrusion. No there are not mystical blackhat hackers out there that can get into anything. This is just movie glam as is naive to believe.
Also alone with the Steam hack, the data that was accessed was not current, and didn't compromise _too_ much. Just because someone can 'get in' doesn't mean they can get root access, or be able to do anything from within the system.
On the other hand, seeing things from different angle, they wound't have all that security messures/systems, if there is no one who can hack. Again WoW was nothing, no real money, no attention from hackers, this can be different.

Yes, With D3 and afterwards real money will be involved, so, there is a bigger potential for hackers to be interested in it.
Not really. Blizzard has had a shop for a long time, this deals with real money and commodities.
They have also been a large company for awhile.
These are good enough reasons if any.
Even the CC DB for WoW dealt enough with money to draw any attention.
Information is everything, straight up monetary value means very little, this is especially true in the underground communities.
Battle.net balance is only for deposit money and thay you can pay for play time or items. If you sell something on RMAH you can choose to get this money to B.net ballance or directly to your PayPal account.
Battle.net currency cannot be withdraw !!! It´s only for deposit money...
Blizzard wouldn't risk the integrity of anyone. I'm sure a lot of thought has been put into this system and is being regulated heavily. Like they said, they are able to view and adjust the AH from every aspect. I believe once they recognize any illegal play they will probably disable the service, simply because people can profit from this service greatly from hacks and bots.

On your end, it is as safe as any other computer thing. Get yourself an authenticator.

Link to fact. I believe this not to be true.

For RMAH is better to use PayPal....
