Like most others I can't really see anyone in the developed world making a career of this. I suspect that it will be mostly farmers that provide most of the items and gold. Still you might get lucky now and then and find things that translate to real gains. More of a nice bonus to playing a game then trying to deliberately make money..
Do i plan to make money?. well hopefully, but i do not think i will the only items you will make money on the high lv stuff. the thing would be the "gold farmers". they will mess up the RMAH so bad that everything will be worthless.
Ill play every class (both genders) through all four difficulty levels and might do some Inferno grinding but not much since i never liked grinding! If in those ten playthroughs some cool items drop that i can sell on RMAH i will sell them of course. I might have quite a few items to sell since i hate twinking so anything i dont really need on the character that i play at the moment i will try to sell.
Did I mention a LOT of fucking money? That's how much I plan on making. I'm gonna create a banking system based on how much I make. People will ask me for loans and shit just to buy D3 items.
No, I think I will most likely play gold-only. I know if I buy into these blizzard bucks things that I am going to end up spending them and I don't want that. I think it gold only for me
US and EU "farmers" will be competing with "farmers" from poorer countries like in Asia or other places - this will drop the prices to almost "worthless" for US and EU players.
Yep, this is the problem. Even in a best case scenario where there are no bots or duping people in poorer countries are willing/forced to work (i.e., game) for pennies per hour. Making $0.10 / hour is a lot of money in some parts of the world.

I do not see myself being able to make any substantial profit from selling on the RMAH, but hopefully... It would be nice
That's about $40 a month here in Australia which would probably take 40 hours of gameplay a month.
Alternately I could put more effort into work and reap the benefits there, but that's no fun =D
