I wasn't sure what to suggest, but while reading the other posts it occurred to me that it might be cool to have a class that is essentially a lesser demon that has chosen to defect and fight for good. Not sure how that meshes with the plot, but I personally enjoy playing evil characters.
But I will say this... if they implement an "Orc" class I will be pissed.
As I think, if Blizzard repeats the pattern from Diablo II, they will add 2 new classes in the expansion, probably one return and a completely new one.
What class I'd love to see? I liked Druid, it is also the only class who has no parallel,
Point.
I think the Druid would be the logical 'return' choice. Maybe a few tweaks here and there (for instance probably only one 'beast form', instead of the two, that could be upgraded to do the job of both). This 'nature class' would be far enough apart from the current D3 roster that it would make for an interesting choice.
Now, for the new class, I was thinking something a little more ethereal. Maybe something like a 'wraith' class. Similar to the Witchdoctor's spirit walk spell, it could be 'betwixt' dimensions...between life and death?
Could be a range class that incorporates a little more of the powers of heaven/hell.
I don't know. Just saying its not necessarily something we have seen before in a playable character (although some enemies might be similar).
I am betting on a shield + weapon class. Currently, there is no clear shield wielding character, like the Paladin was in D2. I would expect to see something in these lines in a future expansion but wouldn't mind a surprise from Blizz
A shapeshifted would be my second guess but it will have to differ from the Druid. I don't think they will 'exactly' bring back any classes that were introduced in past games but more likely somewhat tweaked new incarnations
I would love it if they added at least either the assassin or the druid back into the game with the expansions. Some people may argue that the demon hunter is an amazon assassin hybrid, but I still think it would be nice to have a melee type of rogue class as well other than a monk. The druid would just be cool so that we could have a shape-shifter class. In terms of a completely new type of class, I think that a warlock type of class would be cool. Would be nice if they pretty much made it like a necromancer in that they could summon a lot of mobs, but have them be demons instead of undead.
i think overall the druid is a good idea, but most of the classes have a scence of darkness in them.
the monk is more of a martial arts person but there really isnt anywhere where the druid would fit in the story. the witch doctor is a form of a necromancer and a shaman put into one character, and the monk is also a form of the palidan and almost assassin. ty for reading 2 klodike bars to you
i know this is early (since D3 will be out "soon") but i want to ask community
what class do you expect or wish to see in expansion. Do you think Blizzard will
put some old class from D1 or D2 or something completely different ???
I personally would like to see necromancer again since that is my favorite from D2 !
Looking forward to see what do you think....
I was actually hoping for the Necro as well! I have a feeling the team will bring out something totally new!!! There isnt a class based around the shield like lets say... Diablo 2 Pally was!(well not completely based around shield...you know what i mean) So im thinking theres going to be either a Templar kind of class....or pally. I think they wont go in the direction of Druid again. Seemed a bit broken when it came out in D2.
Everyone is talking about paladin probably because that is only class that fits to go with weapon and shield,
i don’t see fit any current class caring shield. Barb can but in my opinion Barb is all about brutal force so
two weapons or two handed weapon is Barb like !
Nah Bard should be the new class, lets go away from the D1/D2 classes and be new. He'll be a major help to parties with his buffs and his songs will instill fear/dread/pain into the heart/minds of his foes.
I'd like to see Paladin come back maybe even in the form of a Cleric who summons his/her deities powers onto the field. Army of angel warriors bursts forth from the Cleric in all directions or a straight line to bathe their enemies in holy fire.
What if even we had a Demon/Succubus itself who is seeking redemption or revenge and they summon imps/demons of their own to fight for them.
So many possibilities, and so much time to speculate on what they will be hehe.
Dont discount the possibility of a 'Returning Class'. I think it is a good possibility to see the amazon come back and then a new class, most likely a type of NPC that will appears in the upcoming acts. The amazon will re-appear because her tribes have been called up for the assisted defense of the Heavens and the new class will be summoned as well. I think it would be sweet if the new class was a conjurer or a 'possessor': light sword, light magic, but can control the demons in hell, fighting for him/her. Just a thought, as always a possibility (IT IS POSSIBLE THERE A PANDAS IN WOW.)

IMO it's a little early to wish for new classes allready. I'll stick to the five we have allready. I'll bet they will all do great in their own way. I will play those before I start to wish for more or something else. As long as they keep freaking Pandas out of it, it'll be just fine and keep me satisfied.
But if I should put my money on a specific class, I think I'll go for a druid perhaps? Hmm.. Dunno..
I don't think that this would be diablo without the Paladin available to play, even if it is given in the expansion. Our Warrior option in the beginning forged the path for the Paladin availability in D2. Especially in a game with grounds based on "good vs. evil", the Paladin is the choice of holy spells whereas the Monk is a person of balance. There are similiarities for each, but I would not say they are the same character. A second character follow along with is hard to think of, since other combinations of characters are in current ones. (ie. witch doctor)
I want a "Ranger" with pets, melee and ranged options
I want a "Paladin/Knight" with sword and board and auras, maybe Curses as well (like a "Dark Knight" option)
I want a Light melee warrior specializing in 2 handed weapons.
I want a Shapeshifter Druid back.
Who knows maybe we will have Demon that was cursed by witches to have a soul and then he starts to cleanse his soul by killing demons ! Just putting it out there...
Experienced westmarche army veteran, trained in infiltration (invisibility, stalking, escaping), sharpshooting with RIFLES (specialist-only weapon, equiped with blackdust firepowder bag and bullets instead of arrows or bolts) and defensive man-to-man combat (melee combat, stuns, kicks, knife-maybe bayonet on rifle?).
Specialist does NOT have: acrobacy like DH, "demon imbued" weapons, special magical powers, fanatical zeal for anything except for accomplishing his orders, which leads only to destruction of any demonical, celestial or human threats to his kingdom.
Resource: concentration (you cant shoot when your hands are shaking right? just release the presure by evisecrating some demon with bayonet)
Every specialst should have slot for rifle, knife (rifles with bayonet, high lvl only, would fill that slot as well) and ammo.
Specialists are supposed to use all 3 kinds of abilities, not just 1 or 2.

Rencol - Diablo fan since 1996 and walking encyclopedia of Diablo lore.
Those who have been fallowing news from diablofans.com could make with clean heart revise of gathered intel about what is cooking up in next not yet announced expansion.
In Expansion You can expect:
New Act V
More types of enemies on each act. (2-3 on each act will do for the commercial)
Mystic and her recipes for Enchanting
Enhanced animations for all characters during using different types of weapons. (including monk who has been punching always with fists no matter what kind of weapon You wield.)
New unique Items.
New character was and allways will be behind the curtain (they stated that there will be no diablo 2 classes in diablo 3 because they are so "great polished " they wanted to try smth new and those characters will be not seen in diablo 3) So Your answear is no - None of those classes are expected to be seen in diablo 3 no more necro/ amazon/palladin/ druid
Those are known issues that are being noted by Blizzard and have been puted for later ingame changes. I can't imagine those being implemented by patches. Addictionaly I could type here some of my thoughts about what they "intend to do" but I wont.
Posting imaginary thoughts that is Your part of a job for Blizzard to hear You.
Take my advice read the blue posts before making ...unnecessary... posts like this one - No one serious will share with You his wisdom - just probably tell You to "Read the blue posts man use Your head - think! "
But since we have Diablo 3 Beta keys giveaway - fell free to count this a small flick on the nose and advice about Diablo 3 content.
Edit: Some cosmetic changes

Hmmmm, what if Diablo 1's warrior returned? I know we've got the barbarian, but maybe he could have more… finesse.
ANYWAY I guess we'll have a lot of time to wonder about these matters once we get the regular game
Moral: Next time, try twice upon a time.

We ran out of Cheetos. But that's ok because he has an aura for that.
