i am one of the unlucky faithfuls without a key, i was raised on blizzard games (i come from the generation that learned to read from playing final fantasy's =P) and i dont feel entitled to a beta key but i will definitely do all i can to get one. Anyways i've been keeping up with the diablonews on a daily basis but in doing so i started to drive myself mad waiting on a release date announcement or a golden ticket into beta, i ended up buying a digital copy of D2 off battle.net since my discs have long since been spread to the winds and went back through the game as a shock wizard just to have some AoE mayhem to blow off steam from watching a slowly trickling news feed of blue posts for a year.....what trouble have you guys gotten in during the wait?
(*****Love the feedback wanted to keep thread going and rather then posting on a page some might not look at before they leave their comment i'll throw it in my OP, so here it goes*****)
mmo-champion is my homepage and diablofans is the next site i visit after that. i love being able to play with builds and digging through skill trees to see who has what and what goes together. Used to be that you found out about the game on the way home after cracking the plastic 15 seconds after leaving the store and getting the game manual out.=P
I wanna know how you guys are using this kind of advanced information is it a help or a torture for things you cant really touch and play with atm. ty again for all the positive posts
I have actually started playing a very old game that I played in high school. It is called Everquest. Since I'll assume most people reading this site are into video games, some of you probably got your start on EQ as well. I am playing on a progression locked server and so far it has been pretty fun and super nostalgic.
Other than that Kingdoms of Amalauer (or however you spell it) has been awesome. When im not playing either of those there is always Dota 2 with my RL friends.
I have been getting into sc2 lately since i have a shiny new CPU :), but i have a ps3 and love all the mw games. Skyrim and oblivion have tided me over a lil for diablo but, i still play d2 but it sure aint the same. I put a few thousand hours into guild wars too, that game is fun.
I cook a lot. I've also been slowly accumulating parts for a new PC for when the game launches. I have to take the CISSP certification test in June so I am sure studying will keep me busy over the coming months too.
I finished Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Bastion, Darksiders, Magicka, Portal, Portal 2, GTA San Andreas, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines so far, and now playing HoMM 3 campaign, and having a wonderful time. But I'm not sure what to play after Heroes of Might & Magic. Might try gothic serie(They've been sitting in my steam library for 2 months now)
The games I wouldn't recommend: SW ToR: I'm not sure if its just me but it was really buggy and boring, it was missing a lot of important features, still managed to waste 2 weeks of me. I also bought Killing Floor in Steam sale, but did not like it much. Its not a bad game, but why should I play it while I could play L4D2, which was much more fun
Besides working i seem to enjoy Swtor lately, other than that watching a movie and following some series , can't wait for Game of thrones Season 2 to be released, it's propably gonna be earlier than Diablo as well
I've spent the time getting back into Starcraft 2. I started out this summer and got placed in silver league, was my first RTS experience ever and I was in way over my head. I think I lost around 10-12 games in a row before I decided to take a break and didn't touch the game for 4-5 months. During that time I watched a few streams and things like the IPL to pass the time while waiting for Diablo 3's release. Well, after the delays were announced I had to find something to do and fired Starcraft back up and was placed in the platinum league. I had improved my play just from watching other people play. Anyway, now I'm hooked and am concerned that my Diablo 3 playtime will cut into my Starcraft laddering.
I am playing Alan Wake since it is released for pc(only 2 days ago),and playing some Kingdoms of Alamur to relieve me when I am waiting for Diablo 3.I can suggest you to give a chance to these games. Both of them are above from my expectations,I believe that you can like them.
I was playing SWTOR but got tired of it around level 30.
I will play Mass Effect 2 and then Mass Effect 3 to kill time.
Not sure it will buy me enough time to ease up the waiting though.
Been passing time by scouring the internet for a way to get a beta key and refreshing my battle.net account to see if my opt-in made me a lucky person. Ya I know my chances of getting access is very slim but one can only hope.
I have also been playing and streaming games like Guild Wars, Super street fighter 4 and ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 as i'm a huge fighting game fan.
Too much time and not enough things to kill it with
I'm directing two short films and a feature. I also do a movie podcast. These eat up my time a lot. I'll also be getting my kids back soon, so I'll have that to focus on. In terms of other games; I still play WoW, I've been playing SWTOR, and even a little Diablo II for old time's sake.
Belive it or not, it might come as a shock but I'm still playing WoW. Maybe some Dead Island or Darksiders if I feel like picking up a controller.
But There is no other game software company that does almost anything to keep some of you picky people happy! Blizzard Rocks! I can't wait to play D3 and to all the haters May the Force be with you, there is a new MMO out there for all you unimaginative people who want to be a jedi.

Actually I was not really eager to play Jedi classes. Sith Inquisitor was more of my style.
Anyways on-topic.
I'm kinda used to waiting for game releases. Blizzard and Valve are one of the majior factors in this.
As for spare time, I just ordered the first four books of A song of ice and fire been curios for some months now and it seemed like a great way to fill the time until Q2.
That should take you right up to launch or later! Good, long, books.
As for me, I have been keeping myself busy reading up on the lore, reading books and playing console games. I'm just about ready to start hacking the demons armies to pieces!
I'm passing the time by stalking message boards like this one and eagerly lapping up any and all tiny bits of info on the game that I can get. Also, working on the Salty title in WoW.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

I've still got Witcher 2, Kingdoms of Amalar and a replay of Mass Effect 2 to finish as well.
So my plate of games is pretty full overall, but still.. All I want to play is D3, lol.

In Sanctuary
Diablo burns like summer.
Better give beta.

As far as games go, I play a little SWTOR, some Kingdoms of Amalur. Waiting anxiously on Mass Effect 3.
Also wasting way too much time reading about Diablo 3, sigh.
