If they announce a D4 it's gonna take more than 2 years before we actually see it. So no, there is no way there is going to be a D4 in 2019.
There might be some additions to D3 though like a new class some time in the future. Like early 2019.
So u really think they would let Diablo 3 fail and die so they can make a 4th ??
That makes no sense at all...
Yeah. cause keep spitting in money on a game they gonna replace soon makes more sense yeah ?
I don't see either of those things happen really...
Thats on y ou. They have more or less confirmed it by the job listings they have done. They are not hiring a game producer with mmo experience and a love for diablo to bring diablo into the future. Only for a class or a simple expansion. Beyond all doubts that we gonna get a new diablo down the line
That doesnt mean its not an expansion. WoW has had 6 xpacs what is the point of a brand new diablo makes no sense plus in storyline all the greater and less demons are free now.
There is only a certain amount of things they can fix in a expansion. If they make a new game they can go an entirely new direction. They can't make an expansion where you lose access to things in the earlier game. So its gonna add on the game. Change minor things, but not change the base game.
A new game can change a lot of stuff, make the base game better. Make it great from the start. Which d3 was far from. vanilla d3 was utter garbage.
Okay Supreme leader Snoke, it can be a brand new expansion. That isn't blizzard's Forte to do something new. What is the point is the 4th best selling game ever.

Hear that guys RMAH and unlimited trading still exist in RoS....

D3 vanilla was Patch 1.0.0 - 1.0.8 (pour server connections, getting 1 shot by wasps in Inferno, HF ring, craftable lvl63 rares)
Patch 2.0 was a prep for RoS with RoS launching in that patch. Tell us, where is this feature to break the 2 hour limit and exclusive party trade. and the Feature to get duplicated 2x socket manticores.

RMAH and the Trading seriously hurt the game. Thats why it was removed. Blizzard earned money on the AH. They still removed it. That alone speaks for itself how broken it was. My post still stands. There is limited what they can change in a expac. so they are making a new game instead. Which is already been indirectly confirmed by the job postings they have had and the fact that they said last blizzcon they had something for the future but it was not ready for this years blizzcon.
Blizzard usually spends around 1,5 years of continued development after they announce a new game, so wouldn't put it past them to announce a new Diablo at Blizzcon
Played it a bit. Its a good looking game. but its easy to see that its in early access.
Also not a fan of the synergy between mana and rage.
Might be something one day when they are out of EA, but for now. i hold my breath for the next diablo
Sure, D4 or something could come but an Overwatch 2 in 2020? Why? Enlighten me, what possible reason for it could exist? They have loads of room for new characters in the current Overwatch, or maps for that matter. The graphic design seems timeless-y. I don't get the thought process behind it.
I could be wrong but I don't feel like Diablo franchise is being taken seriously by Blizzard, so... no. I don't believe a Diablo 4 (or a reboot) will be announced next year.
While playing in a public game of D3, I remember someone saying how they would have loved to have battled the giant chained monsters that were present when approaching Cydea in A3.
I hadn't ever thought of it before that, but couldn't agree more.
If D4 is in the works or even if there is an expansion, I personally would love to have the giant chained monsters to be the antagonists with of course our title character being the final boss.
Even if this is a bit of fan fiction, I reckon the story could write itself.
After the defeat of Cydea, the chains around the gargantuan monsters weakened allowing them to break free.
They escaped unnoticed while the heroes and Tyreal were occupied dealing with Adria, Diablo and Maltheal.
Before the wars between heaven and hell, the gargantuan monsters rivalled the 3 prime evils and were battling them for the control of hell. The three brothers only managed to subdue the gargantuans when the lesser evils sided with them. They then charged Cydea to chain them up and with the sin heart ensure the chains never came loose.
The monsters went their separate ways upon escaping, conveniently taking us to the origins of each hero as each of the gargantuans having different powers where different tribes learnt their abilities from them.
Giving back story to how each class became on their way to battling against Diablo.
One of the gargantuan powers is resurrection. The one where the first necromancers learnt their craft. Through some sort of manipulation of that gargantuan, Diablo is resurrected.
I'm sure others would have more and better ideas than I've come up with.
I just hope the devs are some of those others and give us something further to waste countless hours in playing
One thing you guys aren't factoring in is loyalty.
A lot of you are just outright assuming that people will return for any future Diablo games when there is an unquestionably better option on the market for free in PoE.
A lot of players, myself included, were burned by Diablo 3. It had a disastrous launch, and at times an equally disastrous development cycle, before development was totally shut down.
Even if its a new class, it won't be that big of a deal. Necromancer wasn't the smashing success it needed to be to revive the game. If they wanted to do that, they would've had to implement a hardcap on paragon, bring real trading back, and massively reduce the effectiveness of ZDPS cheese builds, while also producing a steady stream of content.
They will not do that, and thus the game (and franchise) is dead until further notice. Should the day ever come where a D4 is on the way, people will remember what Blizzard did with the potential of D3, and a lot of them will pass.
I am annoyed at how people always compare Diablo to Path of Exile. The later is the compilation of everything that was terrible in Diablo 1 and 2. On top of that it has an annoying micro-transaction system that tricks most players into using.
Why would anyone assume that if one doesn't play D3, they would automatically run to PoE? It's a Pile of Excrement!
If Diablo franchise dies or turns into a direction I don't like, then I would explore for other games. Wolcen looks promising, keeping an eye on that one.
Goldman Sachs analyst talks of new Diablo title and Overwatch 2 in 2019 and 2020 respectively,

All aboard the hype train!
They let Cain Die... What is the death of D3 in comparison to that insurmountable sin?
