I want to hear as many opinions as possible about this. I am rly disappointed with one specific thing in this patch and that is that existing versions of Primal items aren't changed/updated. I mean wtf people! I busted my ass to gather materials to craft Primal Karlei's Point for my DH and now it is shit bcs now it doesn't have dmg % like new version. In my opinion they could at least update Primal versions of items bcs they are not so easy to get. Things like this "help" this game to lose more and more players. I am rly rly disappointed with this.
Feel free to comment, maybe i don't see a bigger picture here but in my opinion this is bullshit.
I do not comprehend the obsession with primal's. Run any gr above 65 and the ancients that drop have almost perfect values for each stat. Truth be told all my primals are garbage, i would need to reroll 2-3 stats just to make them usable.
Basically, they were discussing this internally but decided to maintain their current approach (retroactively buff sets, but not legendaries). It's safe to say that it's mainly because of technical reasons, and whether that's normal legendaries, ancients, or primals, makes no difference - "the technology just isn't there yet".
For me personally, as someone who has never been a "season pushing player" but likes the continuity of non-season, it gives me new goals to farm. I've already gambled/cubed the new DH weapons yesterday (speedfarming GR90s with Multishot is just SO MUCH FUN) and now I've got some things to do on other classes as well. To be honest, I always complain about the loot hunt being so quickly over, at least compared to D2, so it isn't all that bad in my opinion. Also let's be clear - the list of items you have to replace isn't that long, it's about 5 per class and usually 1-2 per build or so. Some builds even didn't get any changes (like MH wizards) and some got changed a bit more (like the new SWK mechanics or the 3 items we need to re-acquire or UE MS DH). It's not like you're salvaging your entire stash.
One of the reasons i barely find the will to play. Blizz shits on players loot with every decent patch. It happened so many times.. I have 3 versions of Oculus RIng now.
If johnstone can be retroactively nerfed, the likelihood of the above explanation with technical issues, is weak or being addressed only to those items that actually benefit from previous versions.

That is true, normal legendaries can indeed be changed retroactively (see Rimeheart and Furnace a long time ago). It's *different* from a technical viewpoint, but not impossible, so my "the technology isn't there yet" is more to be taken as a meme. After re-reading Nevalistis' post I actually realized that it leaves some room for interpretation, so maybe it's just also a deliberate decision to not tamper with existing items (anyone who has ever done coding knows that changing one variable can cause 10 others to break). Or maybe there's something in the implementation that truly makes certain changes more difficult (some of the items were semi-retroactively changed, like Dead Man's Legacy which looks like the new version but just with a lower roll).
If you mean the "short man's finger" try to check the cube version before you think you got a buff.. Your old version is fixed 200% but new versions roll up to 650%, so I am sorry to be a party pooper.
On a slightly related note has anyone else noticed this patch appears to have lower rates of proccing Ancients using the cube to either upgrade to legendary or reroll legendary?
For the former im seeing about 1 in 15 at best and the latter seems broken at best - I used 350 bounty mats to get a single ancient Yangs, (70 rerolls) and a further 250 (50 rerolls) got me just 1 more item as Ancient.
No, actually, quite the opposite. A couple of days ago I rerolled a Dead Man's Legacy in the cube and it gave me an ancient item 6 times in a row. They all sucked, but yeah.

I thank you guys for taking time to discuss this topic. I see fair points on both sides. But still, when someone takes so much time to grind that one perfect item and feel the joy of having it it's awesome...and then the update comes in and u get shit on, all that time was a waste bcs now u have to do it all over again and pray to RNGsus to take pitty on u and drop u that Primal weapon xD. And if u wanna start all over again you have seasons, but i love my main non-seasonal character and i dont wanna start all over again with him :D. For me personally these things push me away from D3 and that makes me sad bcs i play this game since launch of Vanila. Sry guys if my English is bad, it is not my native language.

Yea loothunt in d2 takes so dam long, i allways end up useing hero editor even if i tell myself to not use it this time...
Your DH will be just as powerful as it was in 2.6.0. Monster hp didn't change. If you want to climb higher in the new patch you need a new weapon. I'm not sure what's so hard to understand. Could you please elaborate your whine?

Go to consoles then?
All mine were updated and no need to farm the same items.
this game is about farming over and over again, get over it mate

There was a long debate about this on the official forums.
