I dunno, but I for one have always loved Blizzard's games, ever since I started playing. In my eyes, the games they develop is less something which I am entitled to have, and more a gift from Blizzard. And I'm not in the habit of demanding gifts from people.
I will get the gift when the time is right, and not before, and I am content to wait for it. Because they never fail to deliver.
<3 Blizzard
A gift is something that is free. Blizzard products are not free.
They are not, you are right. But that is not what I meant. Blizzard is giving me the opportunity to play the games they make. An opportunity to glimpse into worlds and stories that are so amazing I am ALWAYS left with a euphoric feeling, and an insatiable hunger for more. That is the gift I am waiting for, and why I love Blizzard and their games.
D3 is the only game of Blizz I actually followed through development and yes it's irritating to wait for 4 years for the game to come out, but it's Blizz...they only release 99% bug-free games that will last you 10 or more years. Just a couple of more months more bro, hang in there...play Skyrim or something. I'm also very pessimistic atm with the whole GBR in Korea clusterfuck and I also think it's delaying the game.
Just to those who don't know or are confused or whatever...Blizz has never given an release date for D3. They obviously know when the game is polished enough to give the public their guestimation of a release date. They initially said they "aimed for a late 2011 release date IF nothing goes wrong". So obviously something went wrong. Some may say it is the GBR in Korea, some say it's the rune-system ect. Doesn't matter had sex. Sorry, Doesn't matter, they're not done. nd they wil only give us a release date when they're 100% certain.
People crying because Blizzard won't give them a release date. Like Blizzard owes you something. They don't owe us anything. They are making their game, their way. It will be ready when they say so. There's more to life than a video game, so focus on something else while we all wait. I hate it when people think they are entitled to something and can't see the reasoning behind why they aren't.
Pretend you're Blizzard. You don't have a solid date yet, but someone like the OP gets frustrated and demands (under what premise I'm not sure) that you give them a date. So you do, boom there's a release date. BUT WAIT! Now it has to change because of factor X! Everyone's back to square one, and now Blizzard looks like they can't hold their dates. It's FAR better for Blizzard to wait until they have something solid, for them and for us.
The game will come out when it's done. Demanding a date in NO WAY increases the chance of getting it sooner.
Saying it comes out in the middle of the year... not fair to count that as Q2 and Q3... Early could be first 4 months, mid year moths 5 - 8 and late year is 9 - 12
Thus by saying early they give one more month to themselves over Q1 =P
i donno if anyone here went to the Book of Cain signing event in LA few days ago but they said to now expect the game between April and august -_-' . was thrilled to get the book.... tho that really was a downer for the event.
I'd like to recant part of my prior statement that I made. Apparently my point was completely misconstrued. I had no intentions of making it seem as if i was DEMANDING anything. Most of the replies have been ignorant and sound like a debate of cro-magnon era, geico commercial neanderthals. If you don't like the post, get the hell out of the topic, or at least compose something of intelligence and interest. You're arguments are so superficial cause you have no facts in which to base any premise. It's quite ridiculous, and boring. If you only knew a fraction of how the economics works in the gaming industry you would understand that Blizzard is about to revolutionize the entire gaming world. It's becoming quite apparent that they have lost touch with the true part of the entertainment value of the game and are becoming, or have become, solely focused on making as much money as possible. Whatever, I'm tired of ranting, you clones have no clue.
I can understand your impatience as mine is wearing thin too :D. I don't blame blizzard though they are doing what they need to, to make a great game, the only thing that really bothers me is that they released those little teaser vids 4 years ago and I wish they hadn't just so the wait wouldn't have seemed so long lol.
I agree with you, I expect a 2-3 year wait from blizzard, but waiting for d3 was differn't. Even as d3 will be the next release I have never felt like the game has been given the attention from blizzard the fans would like to see. When sc2 was getting close to release there was so much more information out and you really had the feeling from the higher ups in blizzard the game WAS right around the corner.

Might as well just assume it will be released next holiday season lol, at least less disappointment if any more delays happen :D.

Figures you just want people screaming the same thing and agreeing with you in your threads, even if your views are unfounded.
You're arguments
No I'm not, you are!

You're correct in that their RMAH model is going to revolutionize gaming economics. What that has to do with the entertainment in their game is nil. You won't believe me until the game is out, but this will win some game of the year awards, and it's not because Blizzard is money hungry.
I've played every Blizzard game since I played Warcraft 2 in middle school and their PR/community interaction has always been top notch. Most developers don't even have forums, or if they do they don't have anyone really reading, just moderating. They just push out the game, maybe make a couple bug fix patches, and they work on their next game. Blizzard supports their games long after they're obsolete, I mean hell the latest Diablo 2 patch JUST came out.
It's absolutely absurd for blizz and company to try and deny this fact and continue to string along the very people that make the company stay afloat and progress in the gaming industry. It's high tide that we (the little people) get recognized and get, at the very least, a date for release. This way we can have some semblance of peace knowing D3 is well on its way to making it to our hard dive. Give us what we want blizzard, stop jerking us around. I think we have endured enough.
Oh ya, this REALLY doesn't sound like you're demanding anything at all.
On behalf of everyone in this thread, I apologize to you for misinterpreting your plea.
Ok...I may have been kidding there. Maybe.
1. No double posting.
2. If you don't want effortless replies, don't make an effortless thread and then claim you didn't do something you clearly did.
3. Stop trying to project your perceived intelligence and superiority over others. That will get you nowhere here or in any other discussion. Just because you know big words doesn't make you intelligent. And just because you're intelligent doesn't make you right.
So don't get mad when you come to a forum with daily complaining and contribute to it and get effortless replies.

I completely agree with you, if the OP is referring to the rmah than he needs to open his eyes, I was unsure about it when I first heard, but after realizing all of the benefits I am extremely excited that they are implementing it.
the very people that make the company stay afloat and progress in the gaming industry
I never understood why people use this as a reason why blizzard should give us dates and information...ect last time I check... they make themselves stay afloat by making the best games around that we WANT to pay for... if they made crapy games... we wouldnt pay for them... so no, we dont make them stay afloat, they have a massive part in that on their own.
we pay for the work, time, resources, idea of these games. We do these because WE find it worth it for the quality of the game.

No you have that wrong. We give them jobs. We keep their business running. They have obligations to us, that is how a business works. A business with no customers is not a business. It's not a gift, it's a product.

Just because they sell a product doesn't mean they have any obligation beyond providing the product, and certainly not selling the product any time before they're ready to.
The guy you quoted seemed to be trying to convey that he can buy a game from any company, but with Blizz games you get a high level of artistic vision to go along with your mindless game. Art should be shared, and I believe he's thankful they are sharing their art beyond just selling the game.

LOL, you lost me right there. We all know there is nothing more important than D3 release.

For christ's sakes stop saying that. The GRB has nothing to do with the release date. Period.
