Wow. I hope the change this in the retail.

I don't like n00b things! They scare me! hehe

Less ranting about the mesh next time ;D besides that I liked it.

i don't think it will make that big difference, i can't remember last time i misclicked in D2 cause my clicking speed is faster than the character attack animation yet i think making it a little bit smaller might be nice...but no big deal.
also can you test it with other monsters so we can understand if it is something they are planning to do or just an anomaly.

Actualy I like it and I hate when you have to put your mouse exactly over some tiny moving monster especialy when you are a caster.
Often you end up not clicking on the monster and moving close to it insted of shooting it.

But the mesh can be a litle smaller it look to big in the video.

I also like more precise targeting, but I don't think this is a big issue. Not a pleasant one though.

I think its pretty big if you target something that you dont mean to!

try to make a video on multiple mobs that are close together please! (if you have time!)

I don't care about it being noob or not, but the problem is that it makes the gaem less precise. For example, it makes it much harder to navigate through a pack of mobs without attacking them. So if you are the kind of player that likes to shoot/move/shoot/move it becomes more difficult to move through tight packs as the detector picks up mobs that aren't even under the cursor.

I'd prefer a more precise targeting range or at least the mobility to adjust it.

    Hold down "shift" while shooting?

D3 is not Counter-Strike... you don't have to aim for head to be good. It's hack'n'slash. Just throw your (more or less) random skills in (more or less) random direction and have fun :)

I like the way it is now but thanks for informing us

    Rather noobish

If any of you have pvp'ed to some hard level you would know why this is a horrible issue. Let me make this clear, if your turning corner and the person your agenst lands a critical game breaking ancient spear(BARB) pulls and nukes you when his mouse clicker shouldnt of been able to register it YOUR GOING TO FEEL CHEATED!

If the game becomes more serious in the future like some people hope its going to become, it better be on point or there is going to be ALOT of patches that we'll will have to sit thought....

This doesn't let skills go through walls...
Plus if one player can take advantage of it, all players can. At a high level of PvP then both players would be proficient at targeting and it would still be an even match.
The only person that has a valid point so far is Tekkiller's about trying to move through packs of mobs. If you have a big AOE bomb you want to unleash but you want to lasso a big pile of units together before doing so, it'll be difficult to move around just because clicking on ground you'll constantly be clicking on units that are 10 feet away.

i'm not saying the skill goes throught walls, i'm saying your moving away from there courser but your still technically targeted. Not to mention targeting single units even in PVP is going to be a pain if you want to focus down a squishy target but pull a beefy barb instead. Bottom line is the system they have can be reduced in size. it doesn't seem hard to do, idk i could be wrong but it would do justice. It's something that should be on the polished list.

Yea, I can see what you are saying. If you want to aim for the middle of two mobs you'd want to hope they are far enough appart so that your mouse doesn't target either of them or you are just going to target one of them and not be able to target both of them by aiming in the middle of them. I think that is pretty annoying.

I'm pretty sure you can shift-click that though right? Can't you target by shift-click?
  • #21
shift-click only holds position, the targeting will still be the same while shift-clicking. If the mesh is still overlapping on an enemy unit the skill shot will attack the center of that targeted unit that the mesh is overlapping.
