Pretty sure there won't be. I can't remember if I've heard anything officially, but it doesn't make sense to have macros in Diablo III. (to me at least)

well looking at some abilties like for the barb. revenge and overpower, you'll want to use this whenever they are available so being able to macro them onto your main attack would be amazing and reduce the need for alot more button smashing. i like using my mouse for everything (and no i dont like to have a mouse with 8 buttons and feel like im playing "bop it" with it)

No, unlike wow, you are not allowed to use all your spells. Macroing would cause odd issues. On top of which, you should be able to handle 6 active spells ....
I have a mouse that has enough buttons to bind all my abilities I need to use in DIII, and to open my inventory, and map...
I see your point for those abilities, like Revenge, wanting to use it when it's up. I just think Blizzard will say, "You only have 6 skills, macros aren't needed."
lame. oh well. i hate having to click on that many spells. even 6 is too much. D2 had like 2 max. sometimes just one. one and teleport, lol. in wow i HATED clicking that many spells, id often not use a lot of my spells cuz i didnt want to click on them or click on yet another hot key. bleh

That's why you're meant to just faceroll your keyboard.
You dont click on any of them, you press the number keys =P
its a very very simple... and two spells in d2...was way to few, haven more spells is one of the main thing I think a lot of people are looking forward to.
Overall I really dont think it will be an issue at all.

Didn't Blizz say something about using the scroll wheel to cycle through your spells? I have tried on the beta, but I never figured out how or if you could do it. Heck I might of been dreaming!

No need for macro. Im using 4 skills on my mouse activly. I cant have more since I cant get around and touch the buttons when needed. I probably have other 2 "rare skills" as keyboardpushers.

I was going to say something about "rare skills", or skills that are more or less situational/long CD, that you won't be using very often. Those could easily be put on the keyboard buttons since you're not always spamming them (although I'm used to WoW where I was spamming those buttons anyway so makes no difference to me). Something like Zombie Dogs for the Witch Doctor doesn't need to be used very often (basically just when they die) so it's not like that skills has to be in some super convenient place.
That being said, there might be some situational skills that are like oh shit buttons and you'll want them to be in a pretty convenient spot!
