With both Monks and Barbs, yet again, 10+ levels behind Wizards and a good 5+ levels all other classes, it seems us avid Monk / Barb players have received the short end of the stick, as usual. In groups, even with high ranked gems, ancient weapons / gear and equivalent paragon, my Monk doesn't even come close to holding a candle to the DPS a Wizard, DH, Crusader (or WD for that matter), so once again we're forced to play the Support role. Barbs are in the same boat and seeing one in a group is extremely rare.
With so many content and balance patches that have hit the servers, I can only believe certain individuals on the development team really don't like these two classes (Barbs even more so with the complete lack of thought to truly game changing Legendaries and lack of Barb Legendaries in general).
I guess the only hope we have to look forward to is Diablo 4?
The more i see threads like this the more out of touch i think i must be, Its vaguely understandable to see threads like this on the WoW forums where a character takes a large time investment only to be sometimes considered useless at certain fights and disregarded until its on farm status, but this is Diablo, a character can be levelled in 5 mins and geared to T10 in around half a dozen rifts.
If you care so much about being involved in the group meta roll a class that is involved, if not just enjoy playing the class you love, If youre that committed to playing the class you love, the way you like then you certainly shouldnt give a rats ass about not being involved in the meta.
Too many backseat devs think Diablo is overcome by flaws, or should have this feature, or that feature or head in a different direction completely.
Just let Diablo be what it is and enjoy it while it lasts, and if you dont or cant enjoy it anymore dont waste time being dissatisfied, move on to another game you can enjoy.
Well, seems I invested the interest of, let me guess, DH or Wizard player? I have also seen many responses to posts like this over the years when certain classes blatantly outshine others in almost every way, then enters the force of individuals whom are avid players of those classes doing the outshining, claiming all classes are perfectly balanced.
I know this is hard to fathom, but it's hard to truly enjoy playing something when you know it can't compete. Think of it like a timed car race - you're telling me you would enjoy racing someone who is driving a 10-cylinder Lamborghini, while you're driving a 4-cylinder Honda Civic? No matter how much you "enjoy" racing, if you endured that continuously race after race, knowing you could never reach that time or even come close, you wouldn't be enjoying it at all.
That is a horrible analogy, cars models cost different prices and are built for different things. A better car analogy would be if we both bought Z4s and yours randomly came with civic engine despite costing the same price.
One of the reasons I'm having a blast playing Diablo 4. Strange they chose to name it poe.
Yet you're still here...
D4 has shit graphics and very stiff gameplay if that's the case and no skill cap. If you like zero substance though go ahead and enjoy.
And yes I've played POE to uber labs and T15+ maps, the game has no skill cap and is as cookie cutter as they come with almost no class separation due to skills being based on melee, range, spell. It's just... Dull.

You wouldn't believe how many people get stuck on the clutch and revs the first time they get in a Lamborghini or any similar super car...
Just saying.
