Wizard for example only has 14 threads with the last reply being in March or April (0 posts in the section in 2 days) then everything on the 2nd half of page 1 is last reply in February. Asked a question in there about 2 days or so ago and yet to get a reply.
Seems alot of people do what I did, make a post in the class forums here and get no reply then they post the exact same question on the blizzard forums and then get no reply there either or vice versa.
1) I saw your post but didn't have a reply. There are some non-Archon builds, but they're just way weaker than any of the Archon-based builds.
2) Most people are playing themselves that early in the season and don't have a lot of time, so it's not surprising you don't get a reply in those times. Before season start you might have had a better chance, because people were roaming forums until the season started... but now most players just play the game.
3) Overall, activity everywhere is going down. With D3 moving more and more into the casual game direction, theorycrafting discussions and the like just aren't as sought-after anymore. Sadly.

Ahh makes sense xD
Kinda sucks when classes are pigeonholed into only one build basically and people care so much about top 10 builds in the game that anything less doesn't even have a guide.
It'll suck when Necro comes out and for example the melee build is king so all the skele or golem or bone spear skills won't have guides I like minion masters and I loved my bone spear necro in D2 4 shotting Mephisto so it'll be a shame.
To be fair, this is not an issue of the game anymore. There ARE tons of other builds, especially for other classes (and even if we talk wizards and acknowledge that Archon is important for many builds, those are different builds, just one mandatory spell - and every class has some "mandatory spells".)
I honestly don't blame Blizzard for this. The game has insane diversity at this point; as a monk, there's 5 entirely different builds that can get you the early GR70. Absolutely entirely different. That's good diversity. The issue is that all players and all streamers and all Youtube content producers don't stress diversity, but rather promote the meta. I can't stand those videos anymore which tell you "THIS IS THE BEST BUILD BY FAR 100x BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE" or "THIS IS THE NEW META". Well, who gives a shit. I don't want to play meta. I want to have fun. If it happens to be meta that's fine with me; if not, I'll just clear 10 GRs lower. That's life. But then you have to make your owns plans and can't rely on community resources as much.
For example, take Desolacer's amazing guides which have 20 builds or so and 5-10 for each class marked as meta. I wish more people would do that.
There's a lot of diversity in this game right now. I can name dozens of completely different builds. But
1) most of these builds has no visibility, because top players and streamers do not care about obscure non-meta builds. And for a casual gamer it's pretty hard to find a non-meta build at all.
2) not many people care about any builds at all. They just try to copy rank 1 build and that's it.
Totally agree with you Angry_Roleplayer, especially on point 2, there are many viable options around, and to experiment with, but everyone wants to use who is number 1. which is where I wonder how do people think that build got to number 1? The answer is trial and error, and people that try the obscure
What I've noticed over time both as a forum lurker and as a developer/admin on a small online game is that most people don't say anything. They don't post their opinions or questions on forums. They just play the game. It's not because they're bad or have problems with words but rather they don't want to/have no interest in it. Though when asked in private they might be very helpful.
As Bagstone said, they're focusing more on the casual side which in hand might reduce people willing to debate in forums, at least when it comes to builds and theorycrafting.

So comical that I just posted in the wizard forum
