in the cinematic the fat lord of sin was talking to leah like she was diablo. so he's at war with diablo? so why don't THEY have an epic battle? would be shweeeeet. wouldn't it make more sense that the lord of sin is the boss of the game then? or i guess diablo owns him in the face?

Since Azmodan is a boss, he will be killed by "you" before he can battle against Diablo. If Leah IS diablo, she might transform later on.
And it was a vision, Azmodan just told Leah / Diablo, that he is coming, and the stone shall be his.

ah ok. makes more sense. act 3 boss is lord of sin. then own leahablo. boss fights will be intense ;O
Leah is the daughter of Aiden (dark wanderer), possibly conceived after he shoved Diablo's soul stone into his head.
And how does that automatically make her Diablo? Maybe she'll just fit into his schemes, or find it harder to fight his temptations. Maybe she'll serve another purpose in the story. Why wouldn't Diablo take his true for this time around, which they seem to refer to quite a lot recently, rather than his just possessing some one again, especially so since he no longer has a soulstone?

It's a plausible theory, at the least. We also should take into account the obviously feminine bodily form of Diablo in this game, as seen on the convention program and other places. Leah is the major female role, so it would make sense, especially given her birth history.
Her mother was sometimes associated with demonic powers because of her elusiveness and her abstinence from the bulk of Tristram. She randomly showed up when things began going awry in Diablo I while everyone else was fleeing for their lives. That was never explained, or at least explained well.
Her father is mentioned in the beta as being a warrior (hint hint) of Tristram (hint) that wandered off (HINT.)
If it's true that Adria's "consolement" of the Wanderer (now Aiden) included . . . certain sexual advances, and if we assume that the taint of Diablo was already present in Aiden since he already struck the stone in his head, and if we then couple that with Adria's mysterious arrival and foreboding magical talent, and then if we add to that that visual representations of Diablo are obviously female, then there are a lot of areas for explanation which this would tie up.
Again, it's just a highly plausible theory. Not confirmed.

This is pretty much how I think, but it begs the question... what is the black soulstone doing?
Still, as far as well can tell from the story...
it's not clear that Diablo invades sanctuary at all. Act 4 seems to run us through the heavens and then down to hell for a zone or two. Seems Diablo was more set on invading heaven than earth, and there's no reason a mortal body would help him out there.
D2 also implied that the exile of the 3 was all a big ruse, meaning the 4 were part of the plans all along. They were not in opposition but actually support of the 3. Of course 10 years have passed and Blizzard can have retconned things however they want, but I'm not sold on there being real divisions/factions in hell at this point.
Again, it's just a highly plausible theory. Not confirmed.
Yeah, I wont disagree, it is definitely plausible.
I'm just hoping for something new, because we've seen him possess individuals in each of the previous games. Since this is the final showdown with Diablo (I think they've said this ends the trilogy), and they've hinted that we haven't yet seen his true form, so I'm hoping this will be it.
It also makes sense that he can now just come through, since the worldstone is destroyed, wouldn't that mean he is no longer restricted in his movements. Also, like FoxBat stated, if he's going to the heavens then he can just use his natural form.
Someone also stated (not sure about the source, sorry) that Diablo's true form is insect-like, which explains the sleek look, sort of like he is a mantis, more than him being in a feminine form. Could also be. I'm just not so much into the Leah thing, mostly because everybody is expecting it, and I really want the game to be filled with surprises, of which this would be too much like the previous titles.
