Next patch gonna make from d3 botters and bounty farm kingdom for sure. All players gonna play bounty farm at least 50% of playtime, and "cheaters" 24/7 so u gonna see in first 2 weeks some guys with full primal gear,im pretty sure.
We know only for PC. Not sure if they ban on console at all.
But since seasons will start on console (or have started?) they might ban there as well in the future.
There are no bans on console. The fact that console is *not* online-only makes it a cheat festival, and there's nothing Blizzard can do about it. Bans are unlikely on console - ever. If you want an environment in which cheating is less common (beyond botting there's no cheating on PC) and cheaters to be sanctioned, you have to play PC. Console will probably always be a mess. See this reply from Nevalistis.
Edit: To my knowledge, Blizzard can't ban Diablo players on console. See posts below.
I've seen many D3 players banned on console, not banned by Blizzard but by Sony for streaming how to use hacked gear and duping.
Okay, I wasn't aware of that. I just remember how someone from Blizzard not too long ago said that they can't do much about cheating on console, at least not the older versions (which is why only the most recent consoles are getting seasons). I've edited my post accordingly.
And with 2.4 Blizzard eradicated, for the most, the damage a modded player can do to another by limiting LG's to rank 150 so rank 2 billion Gem of Ease' that give players instant 10,000 paragon are long gone.
With 2.5 console player get seasons and with that will come online saves and thus no duping and no modded gear.
Given the fact you cannot bot on console it is safe to assume that the console seasonal version of D3, with its leaderboards, will be the purest form of D3 as it cannot be tainted by anything.
Sorry, but this is simply not true. Every week there is multiple people on Reddit/official forums/here or in other communities who tell the same story: someone joined their game, killed a few monsters, they were paragon 2000. I actually remember the last post from just a few days ago how someone picked up the game, a friend game him a 250k (!!) DPS weapon and he can't find an upgrade. Again, there's different consoles; maybe on some platforms people are banned, but overall your statement is just as wrong as my generalization was (sorry about that). Obviously with seasons Blizzard will have to do something about it, I'm curious how they solve it, but as long as I see weekly posts from console players encountering cheated items, I disagree with you telling me that console is the "purest form of D3". Way to go for that.
1) I'm not sure why you assume that there can't be bots on consoles. I'm not aware of any D3 console bots, but it's pretty pointless anyways since people just edit the save file in offline mode. Therefore, this discussion is pointless.
2) Yes, Blizzard wants to create a "safe space" for seasons on consoles, so in a perfect world they would be pretty clean. However, as Romano points out, it's utopia to think that it's gonna be "pure", as you call it. I don't know why you think that D3 would be the first game in history that manages to create a perfect, cheat-free environment.
3) This is all future talking about stuff that we don't know yet, which will be released in we don't know when, with we don't know what details. Honestly, we might as well discuss the SC2 WCS Champion 2019, because for that we have as much (if not more) intel. All I did was answering the question "were those bans on console or PC" by pointing out that it was PC, and Blizzard has clearly stated at last year's Blizzcon that they themselves have no authority to carry out bans on playstation (at least I recall it that way) and consoles is a cheat festival right now, no matter how much you defend it. But if you want, we can make a new topic and discuss the state of D3 on consoles now and in the future. But this thread is about the most recent banwave... and I feel we've gone way off-topic. Like waaaaaaay off-topic.
@Nachten: I pretty much expect primals to drop with the next patch. I mean, this is Blizzard, even if things are not optimal, they will just bring them to live.
@homerjnick: What you say is logical and it will be super cool if it turns out just like that. What the other posters are saying is that due to the history of consoles, in the future might appear *new* ways to brick the pure environment you described. I don't enjoy consoles and I have no clue, are there programs like thud there for Diablo or other games?
And btw, the purest form of gameplay mode in Diablo for PC are going to be the Challenge Rifts.
Even if hacker's can't install stuff on console, they still can proxy network traffic through their proxy servers. That means they can read and modify network data that is transfered from and to console. This is just a theoretical option, but it exists.
Just checked. NS guy from my friend list (SaF clan) has 4500 paragons but he's finally offline (most of the time he's AFK in gr79). Not banned though. So, banwave must get stronger.
But seasons on console will have no duping, no modding and no botting hence why it will be purer than PC.
I am super doubtful about that. A utopian society it won't be.
Explain how then...PC has no duping or modding because of online saves, well season 10 on consoles is going online saves...PC can bot...console cannot...hence why it will be purer, you won't be able to cheat unless there are other glitches...which there are not at present.
because the game is build from the group up and not a port bro. Its simple as that. I highly doubt there will be no exploit in the game. There is even a higher chance for there to be dupping because it isn't a direct port visually it looks the same, but mechanically there are attributes that make it entirely different.
No glitches at the present...
And guess what else isn't at the present Season 10 or even seasons for consoles in that regard. you don't know. You blindly assume that console = perfection. But there are chances that it isn't. once seasons gets launched its your problem not Blizzards. Blizzard Diablo team is a graveyard team. And their top priority will always be fixing issues with PC first. Heck Josh Moscara isn't even part of D3 anymore, hes on WoW.
I highly doubt consoles seasons are the purest form.
dude with in 1 month on every single CoD game, there has been an Aim bot hack pack out for console.
That fact alone proves how non pure it can get.
with in 1 week of borderlands 2 launch, a whole bunch of exploits came out and nothing was patched.
There is no pure / perfect version for any video game out there. I don't know why its so hard for that guy to understand.
What is stopping a player from modding their controller to run a specific loop. Nothing. If you can run rapid fire and auto quick scope on a PS4 / xb1 controller and im sure some smartass will create a Bot controller.

Ban waves should become a weekly event, because when the primals drop officially it is going to get ugly.
