I went to the New York Comic Con, and landed first at the Insight Editions booth to take a photo and video of their booth where they have a poster of Diablo III: Book of Cain.
I showed my press badge to the booth attendant, and she gave the 2012 Insight Editions Complete Catalog. There I got the names of some of the artists, and (drumroll) plans to launch an eBook version -- which comes handy for international folks who might not have the chance of having access to the physical hardcover.
I managed to amplify the tiny illustrations, and transcribed the Diablo character entry.
UPDATE - Oct 20: Three new images available.
UPDATE - Oct 20: 8 pages preview -- massive lore spoilers about the origin of the universe and the Worldstone.
Sweet, thanks Medieval! I am so excited for this book
Welcome, bro. I'll get high-resolution images at some point. I requested them to Insight Editions last July, and contacted Blizzard about a week ago as well. It's a long process, and I assume there's an NDA / contract term on this book. Once that's lifted, images can be shared to fansites.
This is one cookie I have had my eye on for several months. Can't wait to have the review copy. =)
Interesting stuff. It seems that the "Diablo's true form" is the explanation behind his new looks. Meaning that what we have seen so far in D1 and D2 is only his form after having transformed his human host.
Not 100% that it's Belial even with those pictures. We don't see the whole page so it's not certain that the picture is even related to the text about Belial.
In the book it states that both, "The Dragon" and Anu, are no more, they have turned into the different energies that bound the cosmos. I really dont think they'll bring them back as characters, It'll make the game to much confusing.
I'm guessing that they added those first gods just to explain the origin of both sides, good and evil, once and for all.
Someone needs to make a big juicy thread with all this data. I would.. but I suck at it XD

Can't wait to read this book in full.
But I guess it's still very likely.
