Yeah, I don't know if you checked out the BlizzCon streams, but my understanding is that the Armory feature is being released in conjunction with the Necromancer expansion. I'm pretty sure they were clear about that.

I remember that differently. The Armory, as well as Challenge Rifts, are planned for a patch some time in 2017. The Necromancer will be released in the second half of 2017, so my guess would be around season 12 (+/- 1). I'm sure S10 or S11 will have the Armory, and hopefully also Challenge Rifts.
Yeah, thanks, Bagstone. That makes total sense now that I think about it. The Armory is just a QOL thing that all players should enjoy whereas a new class should obviously be paid content.

it's actually not a QOL change at all. In fact it diminishes it. I already had this discussion with another person on Dfans post Blizzcon.
What the armory does in terms of coding language is point an array towards your inventory. Its like using vlookup in excel. It looks up the info in your stash and uses that info for the armory.
So yes, you can have multiple builds per character slots. However, it WILL NOT free up any inventory in your stash. This is what people actually wanted, a way to free up stash space. Because what eats it up the most is multiple variations of the same set item due to RNG.
but removing the time it takes to manually swap out that gear, gems, paragon, skills, passives and cube items is itself a QoL change, whether it saves space or not. Even something simple like swapping +goldfind and movespeed in rifts was a pain when someone decides to change the pace with a Grift run. It should be as simple as set and forget, not a constant fear of getting locked into a GR wearing your boon of Hoarders or having nemesis still cubed by accident.
The Armory and the "mats" patch will probably roll out when season 10 starts, as this is also the first season available for consoles, the Armory and mats where also part of the announcement for the seasons on consoles. So my best guess is the patch that comes along with season 10 will provide the new mechanics, so is Challenge Rifts probably. The Necromancer will therefor be playable at Gamescom 2017 in august and then set to release just after, probably with a patch too, as they said the necro will be releasde in half-ish of 2017, this could very well be the point.

I think you're looking at it from a 'wrong' point of view.
It is a QoL-change in the sense that it frees up the need to make several characters, just to make build-swapping easier. It pretty much makes any kind of gear-swapping easy.
It changes nothing in regards to how you store your loot - it's not supposed to do anything in that regard - simply just make it easier to manage builds.

You are still looking at it wrong.90% - the majority of players don't even uses there alt for a different build. Since D3 Vanilla they've always used this formula = 1 main per class + a crap ton of mules. What are Mules? a bunch of Level70 characters that never get used for gameplay. Only used as extrensions of stash space. Don't believe me. Go ahead, run pole and go into D3 and ask people.
I guarantee you this will change nothing. People will be very disappointed with what they are receiving this coming 2nd or 3rd quarter.

You really shouldn't use percents in a already failed arguement. I have 1 of each character and 4 crusaders. I have a hammerdin', a lon bomb, a Roland's I hope that gets fixed, and an invoker. This excludes season characters. So yes armory would allow me to delete 3 crusaders and use those 3 as mules for odd ball gear I don't use thus freeing stash space.

That's exactly what "QOL" means. Quality Of Life. It's not a functional change, it's not a change that allows you do something you couldn't do before (e.g. store more items). It's a Quality Of Life change: it saves you tedious clicking and dragging etc. when you want to change to a different build.
imho it's a nice boon for anyone who uses separate gear/skills for e.g. speedfarm vs. hard content. Or for anyone who wants to try out a different build and be able to simply switch back to their "main" with a click of a button.

Weren't these two features supposed to be in the 2.4.3 patch?
I can't seem to find them anywhere...
No, they'll come out in a later patch.
Not one we have to wait months for I hope?
There are no mid-season patches, especially not with new content, so it'll be another 3 or 6 months (or more).
You got to be kidding me... oh well.

nice. nearly one year for a micropaymancer. and sometime in between yet another season with yet the same stuff we will see a bit of QoL. grrreat!
