I don't think any sane company would push back a release date simply because it was leaked.
Especially not one that has been so long in development, and has had so many "leaks" in the past that it's hard to take anything seriously unless it's actually from Blizzard officially.

Blizz would give a heads up to all their international branches about the release announcement/date. The Italians just leaked it. Doesn't mean just cause it's not from Blizz US, it isn't real.

if its true... i hate blizzard thats during finals and 10 days later i have 5 days off and i'm going on a trip down to utah to buy it with my brother and go to my other brothers graduation... i've already pre-ordered the CE from gamestop there in utah but i don't know if they will hold it now

It doesn't feel legitimate to me. I hope its true and I think we will get a release date this month for sure, but that doesn't seem like enough time by blizzard standards between announce n release. Also I have read they still plan on giving out a lot of keys, they would really have to pump the keys out quickly because the beta will be ending at least by April 10th if this is true.
There will probably be a lot of that kind of "we have the release date stuff" now that Blizzard announced that they are going to have a big announcement (huh). For the first time, I'm starting to believe that this game might actually be released. Hopefully the announcement won't be about the auction house or whatever.

couldn't agree more. it seems a little soon, and it would make me far too happy if it was 4/17. i still think beginning of may, but the hype train continues, little bits here and there to keep us hangin on.
again shall i state the obvious? they first said "early 2012" after the initial delay. everyone kept saying january 21st or whatever over n over and now its march.
logically why would they say early 2012 and release it at the VERY beginning of it when they obviously delayed for more time. they wouldnt and they didnt.
so why would they say targetting Q2 just to release it 17 days into Q2? again, they wouldnt. they wont.

Tone down the hype on this one till it comes from something reputable
I was in Wal-Mart the other day and they had cards to prepay for copies of Diablo 3.The only other time I have ever seen Wal-Mart do pre orders was for items that came out with in 3 months.
I'm from Holland myself, I can tell everybody right off the bat that Bart Smit is not reputable when it comes to game releases. Its the equivalent to Toys R US. I agree with Faithfull that 28-30 june release or later seems more likely.
Don't confuse my Forum rank with my nickname :P. But even though Bart Smit is indeed not a specialized video game retailer, there have been occasions in the past they got a 'hidden' release right, and I'm only thinking about WoW Cataclysm now as the most recent one in memory. It's indeed wise to take leaks with a grain of salt, but despite what Bashiok tells us: You're not going to impress me by saying your customers will know the date at the same time as your business partners. That just doesn't happen.
indeed, retailers know before coustomers i dont mean blizz rings every shop and tells them for example.....they tell game stops, best buy's main office & its usually contained in that office and not leaked out but they would tell smaller retailers also, cos after all retailers are blizz customer's also retailers have contracts with blizz and retailers have to have prior notice before public
gamestop best buy amazon - these are NOT business partners. these are RETAILERS. they are merely selling blizzards game to make money. the retailers want to know the release date just as bad as we do because they want to make money and if they knew it they would hype it all over the net to make the most money - this is why blizzard never tells retailers before the rest of the world.

Oh I don 't know, this could have a hint of truth to it, the date mentioned is in Q2 regardless whether its 17 days or 40. Here is a few facts gleamed from other sites,
Its a major blog/news site and has a huge traffic ranking in Italy.
The date and both CE/SE prices are stated hand in hand which it should for a release announcement
The date is different and the prices can not be found any where else (except I did checked out Gamestop and they also had 4/17/2012 as release)
Retailers were told prematurely but have not updated their web sites,
They classified it as a "News " post, not a rumor. They are clear its a confirmation and are putting themselves out there as a major news organization. The only other time they talked about a release date was the 01/17 one, but they specifically referred to it as unconfirmed "internet rumor". All their other news post are just straight information from Blizzard.
This does not seem like an "echo chamber" post where it has been copied and pasted from another site.
I am not saying it is all true unless it is straight from Blizzard but if it was a premature date release then it will give cause for some hope of early release.
And there is the old adage......... some news is better then no news.........just hope it is true.
