I don't think blizzard understands what their fans want. Necro has been wanted since launch and they've never cared. Two new zones (wowee), a psuedo-remake for a nostalgia trip and to make us realize how bad outdated mechanics are, and some payed class content don't fix what's wrong with the game (terrible, shoehorned builds based on gear we get for free doing some menial tasks at the beginning of the season, content that can be steamrolled until you get to the psuedo-difficulty in grifts, and a lingering and undeniable staleness for the better part of a year).
I feel bad for the people that have been sticking around for these announcements too. That's all you're getting for the next couple years.
I'm pretty much peace out on D3. I unlocked the 10 stash tabs I'm tired of the rift/grift/skill/paragon system. Next year there appears to be more D2 than D3 in my future from what I heard in the announcement.
i'm not spoiled, i'm just sad. Sad that the game franchise I love is being treated like shit. Epic announcements? Sure if you don't care about the actual problems the game has.
I hope there are changes to the real problems the game faces, but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't addressed at all this blizzcon or take another half a year to roll out. I won't be playing either way until those changes come to light, if they ever do. And I'm not alone.
I feel like 4 years is just... too much time for the biggest game company to meander around with a beloved franchise like they are. Trading was in the game, but removed and I don't think it'll ever return.
They did not even announce any of the changes yet, just a move to DLC, Necro, Maps, and D1 IN D3.
Those are some epic announcements, and you guys are a bunch of spoiled brats.
Hate to tell you but Wyatt just said on stream that the Necro was the big announcement they had everything else was little things. So dont expect anything better.
I'm holding out until later today for the other panel. But damn if there's no actual systems work like oh idk sets being mandatory, paragon being awful ect, it looks like yet another disappointing blizzcon for what now feels like blizzards neglected child of a game.
Maybe this new form of DLC will be common? D3 IS their only game without a steady source of income, so maybe if a payed DLC system is put in place we'll actually get some meaningful changes to the core game play?

Yep. Plus the history of Blizzcons is all major announcements get made during the opening ceremonies. We've heard all the big bones that will be announced, everything after this will be details, like the Nec's sets and spells.

Wyatt is not on a stream atm so stop being a salty little whiny bitch!
As a lore nerd I'm still waiting for the new zones to see if I can have something nice, but I'm not holding my breath. We won't get any really big major feature and a solution to the dangling plot threads.
Hey, Blizz. I'll design the second D3 expansion for you. You don't even have to pay me for it. Just gimme a copy for free when it's done. You'll thank me later.
I'm still waiting for a clever redesign of pl. 13 inferno stages, 90 grifts, endless paragons.
It's not gonna work. It doesnt work now as online players show, and won't do any better in the future. It's a hamster wheel, a total nonsense. They should learn from PoE, a game I don0t like but that has a lot to teach to d3, about keeping playerbase. D3 just needs to be a bit less "hardcore" in skill tree, but has definitely great servers, great engine and gameplay.
Just need to bring back the game to the arpg genre and not first a trading simulator (rmah) and now am exp grinder. A game about hacking, slashing, looting...and building your char. that's all.

I hear you - but the show just started. I bet the developer panels talk about 2.5 and changes they are making to address the fans.

I have been playing Diablo since D1 I hope that there is more than just a necromancer and a couple of new sections to play.
