Dyes! We've seen them in countless other RPGs, and now they're here in Diablo. We have limited information on dyes, but we do know most visible pieces of armor can be dyed. I'll add some more basic colors in addition to the 2 types that dropped in the 2010 Blizzcon demo (an off-white color and a natural brown color) seen here:
.
Here's an SS I numbered that shows us a mid-tier(-ish?) Wizard armor. Keep in mind that each piece of every tier of armor can dye differently, so these colors could be more vibrant/subdued depending on what you're wearing.
There will be rare dyes, perhaps deep shades of red and black or bright whites that are more desirable. There's also the possibility of a unique Collector's Edition dye, or dyes related to completing difficult endgame material (Tyrael's Soul Dye, etc.).
So: how do you plan on dying your your first character? Will it be a solid color like you see in the above picture or will you mix and match? If the Collector's Edition had a dye, what would it look like? Should some very rare dyes also have some sort of effect associated with them, like a smokey aura or glow?
For me, I had a tough choice between full white or mixing black and some other color for my Monk (my first character). I think I'll end up shooting for full white, but this could change if white dyes are crazy-expensive.

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.
I think it depends on what character I'm playing. I think a would want an all blood-red Demon Hunter and maybe a Wizard that wears all deep blues or possibly purples.
etc. I'll probably use far more interesting ones when I actually put more thought into it closer to release... like IndigoTilite = Wizard (goes well with Arcane power).
So I imagine I will dye them accordingly. I'm sure vanity will strike at somepoint and I'll make GoldTilite!!!

I agree, which is why I answered based off of my first character, the Monk. I'd pick like silver and dark red for a barbarian, black for a DH, etc.
Ideally I'd have 5 identical polls, one for each class. But you can only create three.

It depends of the kind of character we will use. For example:
-If I make a Barbarian, I am thinking on a golden armor.
-If I make a Monk, I am thinking on brighter colors, depending on the class.
-If I make a Wizard, it would depend on what kind of Wizard.
-A Demon Hunter should be black with red, for me.
-A Witch Doctor? Well, the Witch Doctor is crazy! He doesn't care about colors
My choice isn't included and therefore I'm going to hunt down the poll creator with a pitchfork.
WHERE IS DA RAINBOWWW CHOIIIICE !!!!
Now, seriously, silver is the one I identify with the most. I loved Sigon's "steelseries" from D2 B)=] I guess I like shiny heroes
Ha, it's actually include in the parenthesis of the first choice I'm going to lol when I see a person decked out in the most garish colors possible. Then I'm going to kill yell at them
My DH is going to be male, with bright teals/blues and marginally less bright greys/golds.
Barb will be amber and something else, TBD.
I don't care about the other classes yet.
Edit: I hope Blizzard trolls everyone and makes Black an incredibly rare dye, like in Fable III. The longer we don't have High School cliques invading our games, the better.

WhiteTilite = Monk
BlackTilite = Demon Hunter
GreenTilite = Witch Doctor

Or maybe some kinda purple and gold pimp fresh look

Wiz = gray or cyan
WD = dunno yet
DH = black or dark red
Barb I dunno I'm not much of a bar guy.
BTW I think dyes work as a single set dye not dye each part.
Safest bet.
Now, seriously, silver is the one I identify with the most. I loved Sigon's "steelseries" from D2 B)=] I guess I like shiny heroes
Monk = White
Barbarian = Deep Red
Wizard = Deep Purple
Witch Doctor = Sickly Green
If I start seeing this as a very common theme though I may toy with them some.

killyell at themNope, a dye dyes only 1 piece of armor. Look at the first screenshot in the OP, the tooltip says "Changes the color of a single piece of armor."
Monk = Black
Barbarian = Black
Wizard = Black
Witch Doctor = Black
but in all serious, all classes will be full black.. maybe a little orange. Either that all full white with a little orange.. district 9 colours!!
