We know that the friends and family beta is running with no NDA attached. But it seems like there may be other versions of the beta running with an attached NDA. Evidence provided by SC2 commentator Day9 as seen by his tweets here : https://twitter.com/#!/day9tv
Do you think this is a different build of the Diablo 3 client? Perhaps one will more than Act 1 which would justify the NDA?
It's probably because he is in fact considered press even though he was invited to the F&F. He has a huge following and letting him stream would most likely upset some of the "real" press.
At least, that's how I understood it. I wont say I agree, but I guess it kind of makes sense in a way.
In that idea doesn't it seem stupid that the F&F can upset the 'real' press by having first chance to post things?
I imagine the blizzard support person he spoke to must be mistaken, another sc2 caster Painuser was streaming the beta and profile wise would have been considered "press" as well as "Friends" as well.

I personally don't know, I'm just as confused as all of you. That was my impression of the situation at least, some of the other fans in his stream-chat basically said the same thing.
Press was NOT supposed to be allowed into beta, he got in as a fluke from a friends and family invite. Anyways yes press still cant report on things they have a NDA until press beta.
He can't stream because he's press and got in with a F&F invite, and not all press are in so it's not a fair level field yet. He has the exact same beta.
Lol, so if im into F&F beta, streaming and sharing all the info I aquire (no NDA), press/media is useless then.
What's the point in press, if by the time they are allowed to cover the beta, i'll get all info on my little site and gather all cream?
Exactly. <_<
Well the main selling point is these are all amateur videos, you'll be seeing VERY in depth videos all at 1080p with every class when DFans gets into press beta along with Force narrating.
Yes. He's talking about press beta and F&F beta, they're the same, but he can't do anything press related while in F&F beta. Someone tweet him if you don't believe me, or PM Sixen.
If a newspaper/tv channel gets a story, they don't wait untill all media arrives and starts broadcasting at the same time. That's called exclusive. If you have your people in F&F beta, use their material! Be first! Get all benefit! Media is a competition, it's not your problem if some diablo portal fails to get access. When a PC magazine gets an exclusive interview/review, they get all credit and respect, reputation, authority, fame, etc.
Daemaro was right. According to Force Strategy, fansites and press have access to the beta but are under a NDA which prevents them from streaming or directly sharing content from the beta (for now). It makes no sense when F&F participants are not under the same restriction but it is the case. You can read about it directly from the Reddit thread here:

Are you insinuating that every single person who isn't press and has access to the beta can't make high quality videos that rival "press" videos? Because if you are not then there isn't a ton of incentive when someone else can do it right now. The beta is brand new so good videos take time...and possibly less time than it will take for Blizzard to let press get involved. Frankly it was just dumb not to include press in this F&F beta if they were not going to include a NDA.
There are a bunch of people who are claiming that the Press Beta is somehow different from the Beta everyone else gets, I assume this is a bunch of misinformed trolls, but does anyone have info on that? I just assume that they want all press posting at the same time.
It's obvious to me that Sixen and Force and others are all playing the Beta now, but they are under an NDA until the actual closed beta starts. If you want proof without someone having to spell it out for you (since they can't NDA and all), then check Sixen's post count since the F&F beta went live on the Official Forums. He has only posted a couple times since, down from his multiple times every hour. Blizzard obviously let some people in right away, as they are "friends", but they cannot use their press capacity until the closed beta opens.
It's easy to work this stuff out if you just put the evidence together.

This seems like the most logical answer. I don't see why they would bother creating multiple beta clients for more content if they only want to test infrastructure stuff. Chances are that if the basic mechanics work in Act 1, they'll work in Act 2, too. The only issue would probably be quest scripting bugs.

But what evidence is there of this? I haven't seen a blue post or anything about it.
