hey guys, i was curious to know which class will win overall, there's usually always one class that trumps the rest in popularity, so vote above and see :).
I think it will be Barbarian to start, then maybe something else.
I'm with you. I'm not going barb first, that spot belongs to monk, but I know tons of people will go for what is familiar. Also many people don't like ranged and the barb is the quintessential melee meat shield class that most people will identify with right off the bat.
Poll wasn't asking what class YOU are taking, but rather which you think will be the most popular.
I voted Wizard, I think Barbarian is up there too, simply because they are the most direct imports from the Diablo series. WD, Monk and DH all have properties of other classes but not in so direct a way, and I think that people like simplicity and stray from change (I think most ppl play same type of characters across diff RPG's), so I'd say its defintiely either Barb or Wizard. A year or two past release... who knows? Game's direction will dictate that I think.
Considering there is very limited info on demon hunters compared to barb's ATM im most likely going to play a barbarian, but if more info on DH comes out and it interests me i may switch.
I'm going for the monk its something new and fresh. I think there is good potential for crowd control, damage, and defense which will be key for end game.
I'll probably go for wizard next since I can relate to that char the most from D2.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
I'll probablly go for Barbarian. I was always a pike barb and I loved it. But I'm conflicting with my love of the monk... so its either barb or monk...
I think Barbarian will be most popular because everyone will want to see how much better it is than in D2. I personally prefer spell based classes and will be playing Wizard.
Never one to be comfortable with direct confrontation. Which is not to say I completely abolish melee, so much as if I play a melee class it is very delicate and refined. Diablo II's Martial Arts Assassin represented this well. Great at dealing damage, but had to be played with relatively high intelligence and precision (compared to the other core melee characters) as she could not perform well if at all while being attacked herself, starting with the later game and higher difficulties. Which is a bit moot as the Ranger was my choice in Diablo, and the Amazon in Diablo II.
I am very well interested in the Demon Hunter. Seems like a nice choice if you do not mind putting a little work and thought into your kills. After I get more comfortable with the game, the Monk seems like it could be another nice choice after I get over the idea of actually touching things.
Seems like in every game I always choose one of the least popular characters. Kind of disappointing seein' the Monk down there. I think he's the most awesome.

I will try the Barbarian and Wizard.
I wont even touch the Witch Doctor and Monk.

I'm torn between the same two. I'm dead even between them.
