I know some other folks mentioned what they would be doing, in a previous thread, until Diablo 3 graces us with its presence - but I thought I'd reintroduce the thought in its own thread.
So what are you playing/going to play until either you get a beta key or its released?
And I'm curious to know other people's thoughts on what's a good substitute for D3, until we get the real thing. I've played Torchlight and found it okay, but just doesn't have the flavor that the Diablo series does. I might - might - check out Torchlight 2...
I'm playing Black Ops and Bad Company 2 on PS3, but when D3 arrives I'll play a lot more on the computer. By now I've learned to accept the wait. Only downside to playing on the computer is it hurts my shoulder and back when playing a lot.
Same! Although I play on the 360..
yeah pretty much BFBC2, Black Ops, Halo Reach, Halo 3.. Hopefully Battlefield 3 will be amazing this fall to make the last new months go by faster.

BF3 looks amazing, just a bit worried my pc won't be able to handle it.
I wish Firaxis would bring out an expansion to fix Civ V. Loved IV but the new one just doesn't seem as fun to me. The AI can be dodgy at times, and some parts of the game feel "dumbed down". I need a strategy fix.
Theres a thread on here with list of non diablo games.
Magicka is one
Bloodline champions is one.
Those are the only two worth mentioning really XD
oh mythos is one. mythos is.... ok
I've been looking forward to D3 so much, I honestly can't get interested in any games at the moment. I even played D2 last night to see if it could grab my attention for a bit. Didn't work. I'm through with Black Ops - since I saw the MW3 teasers. But that will be out in November, and if Diablo III beta is going on during that time, I may not be able to bring myself to get caught up in that either. Diablo III is going to be the only game I want to dedicate my time to this year.
Panzercorps Beta
Axis and Allies (play with my mate over the net)
D-Day Revolution and Dota -Warcraft 3 maps for Lan games
Final Fantasy XIII PS3
Valkyrie Chronicles PS3
Heroes of might and magic VI-Beta comes out in a month
I've been enjoying L.A. Noire for the last few days, and I plan on attempting Hardcore mode in Dead Space 2..that will probably fill up my time until The Beta starts.
Edit:
Games I plan on playing before Diablo's release:
-Rage
-Deus Ex Human Revolution
-Gears of War 3
-Batman: Arkham City
-Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
-Battlefield 3
-Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I, like many here, have tried to get back into D2 and I just can't seem to hold my interest past the first 20 levels or so. I just feel like its something I've done, over and over again - that is just doesn't hold water with me anymore.
Was playing SC2 heavily, but I quit smoking and in the interest of maintaining that goal, I had to stop losing to people with slighter faster fingers than me. Nothing like losing a Starcraft match to get the rage going and wanting to squash it with nicotine...;)
I miss the hack and slash-action rpg realm and want something to be idly interested in, until D3's release. I'll have to check out some of the Diablo like games mentioned above...
Are there any or have there been any games since that allows a player to create a roster of characters as this does? From the beginning and not just by rounding up NPCs to create a team...
Lots of other good games out right now. Also, you can actually take a break from games and do stuff in real life. There are other hobbies besides video games.
I have a bunch of books I hope to read as well as doing lots and lots of personal paintings. Every game I have picked up this year so far has run out of steam very fast. Time to explore my other areas of interest.

Lol. That's what I've been doing and plan on doing until the game is released. If I get all my "chores" done in real life, than my Master (wife) will most likely let me play D3 to my heart's content

Same here. After seeing D3 graphics and gameplay, D2 won't just cut it anymore.
I even tried signing into D2 yesterday and taking an old character on a few runs. Killed Baal once, nothing of significance dropped and I sighed, shut down D2 and started reading this forum. Sad.
I've been reading the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher, absolutely loving it! As far as games, Torchlight, Starcraft 2, WoW, The Witcher, and Dead Space... what I multi-task... and I never will play Dead Space at night.

Witcher 2
Dungeon Siege 3

I know only Dungeon Seige is close to a Diablo feel, but these are what will get me by until Q2 2012 when I expect D3 to be released.

ES5 is a ways out. It will probably drop the day they announce the beta start.
