Depends on how the game is. I am currently planning to do something like Rift>SW:TOR>DIII. GW2 will be sampled in the middle of that, as will Skyrim, any of those games can take over. Generally, I only play one advancement RPG at a time. SCII's exp soon will come out which I will not be buying, so that's gone, and LoL is probably the only game I'd play regardless.
lol @ most of the stuff Entity listed being rubbish.
Rubbish those are all the good games Deus ex looks nasty, and homefront is bringing something new thats why I wanna try it, I'm all ears for any CoD Competition.crysis needs to be balanced but i mostly want that for story purposes. DA2 is not high on my list i actually didnt really like 1. and all the other games are just good. Portal has to be one of my favorite games of all time so i have to see portal 2, and of course gears 3 is coming out and that will close up that storyline.Same with mass effect 3.the only game i consider rubbish on my list is DA2 and Modern Warfare 3....

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Quit? No. Play the other games significantly less? Definitely.
This. Other games will just get less attention. Diablo3 will be the thing I go to when I sit down and play when it first comes out for the longest time lol.

I'd say the multiplayer part is optional (you can play offline just fine) and designed to give us the ability to play with friends in small parties (aka replace the LAN games from D2). That's nowhere near WoW for example, where everything is based on large social structures (not to mention being online is mandatory).
But the DIII multiplayer will form a larger social structure beyond the four that one can be in the same game with at a time. People will trade and find friends, fight bloody arena battles, discuss on forums and everything of the likes.
It's no MMORPG, that's a given, but the online aspect of it is quite big. Especially since being online is the norm for DIII, offline an oddity. Similar to Starcraft II.
I hope they dont discourage offline play to mnuch since I know I will be playing a little offline. I hate when they try to discourage offline play. I played all of Sc2 campaighn offline. I dont like being forced to do things. (Unless I want to do it)

Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
It'll be Diablo III all the way. At least in the first weeks.
I do enjoy some other games at the side of my "main" game. Just something quick paces and easy to get into and out of. For example currently playing: Super Meat Boy, Heroes of Newerth, Team Fortress 2.
This is a dumb poll and idea. You aren't a gamer if you only play one game, sorry. Gamers have to know about all types of games to be considered a gamer.
Why would anyone quit other games, Dirt 3, BF3, WoW, SC2, for D3? Its all just entertainment.
If you really think that, you're on the wrong site. If it wasn't for WoW, you would have been playing d3 a year ago if not sooner. It's the heart of the matter, and it means over a billion a year in revenue to the big B.
I wonder how d3 will impact the sc2 community. Clearly d3 will have its strongest appeal to casual gamers. After all, d3 is a dungeon creeper game which will be mostly a low stress game. Something that you can do while chatting etc if you wish to. Currently sc2 does have a lot of casual gamers that tend to gravitate to the less stressful 4v4 and 3v3s. However I feel that the diablo universe will offer a much better gaming experience for the sc2 causal gamers in terms of being able to socialize and relax during the game.
However, WoW won't lose any more subscribers over DIII than it will over any other competing game of similar nature (DA II, TL II, KOTR, etc.).
We've been over this, and we'll agree to disagree again. D3 has some serious flaws, but it still totally crushes those other games. I think it might have a similar affect with WoWheads that discover a game with a more intense pacing.

I think that Diablo III won't affect the StarCraft II community nearly as much as it will affect the WoW community. SC2 has a whole different class of gamers - the strategy gamers. Competition is their focus, and SC2 will have much more competition over D3 - in terms of multiplayer.
But for the casual gamers of StarCraft II, I think it will be easier for them to get into Diablo III and really feel like they are accomplishing something. When I played StarCraft II, I really loved it. The matches were intense, but once I learned how terrible I really was compared to the majority of the player base, I was discouraged, played a bunch of custom games, and then just sort of dropped out. Strategy wasn't my thing. I couldn't think or click as fast as the majority of my opponents, and it became frustrating. I'm sure there are a few of these players out there that will gravitate towards Diablo III and be redeemed.
But for WoW, players are used to an RPG, and will be intrigued to try another - especially Diablo III. I think the fast pace and the visceral feel will be a good change of pace from the one-monster-at-a-time sort of battles. The diehard WoW fans won't stop their subscriptions, and will probably return back after a few weeks. But the WoW players really looking forward to the game may do differently.
This is all speculation of course.

It will ad somnething new, there is a lot of different things though and from what i've seen it looks a little tricky.

Great sig and avatar, btw.
