Auto pick up loot

  • #1
Since everyone has their own loot anyway, why not save a mouse?
for every 2 times I click to kill something I have to click 6 times to loot stuff,
so how about an auto loot? you can have options to just pick up gold, and magic items.
can I get an amen? you'l thank me later when you dont have to pay 20 bucks for a new mouse.

Gold pickup is automatic. Dunno about other items.

totally agree with u man.. I would of disagreed if it was share loot like D2, but like you said, since everyone has their own loot, i think its so much more convenient if there was an option to set "Auto pick up, Whites, blue, green, etc etc"

Makes the gameplay faster for your team and less chance of missing something awesome.

You'd be spending a lot more time throwing 90% of the loot away that you didn't want, even if a filter was set up to only pickup uniques.

There's no rush to pick up loot since loot is only visible to you.

I agree with Huck, even items like Uniques are rarely the ones you want. It is also more fun with more interaction, as long as it doesn't get repetitive. Picking up potentially awesome items is never repetitive. I also want to take a careful look of what exactly I am picking up. I might pick up a Unique weapon and not notice it because I was in the heat of battle when I got it. That kind of removes the excitement of finding the item.

I just thought of something. Isn't it going to look really odd when a character suddenly stops and begins to run back and fourth to places that to others appears to be empty ^^ Perhaps stopping for a while to identify. When everyone can see the loot everyone knows what that person is doing, but now you might continue unaware that one party member didn't follow because good items dropped.

The most annoying thing in the world is open your inv in the middle of a dungeon and search for stuff to drop because your bag is full. If they add this auto pick option i would simple ignore it.

If autopickup is done there should be an option to lock items in your inventory. Then there would be a "drop all" option that would drop all non-locked items. That way you could painlessly empty your bag after quickly locking the ones that looks interesting.

Yah, that sounds like a great idea, ezy and quick can more than likely can be preformed with maybe a "Shift-Click" and then yur rdy to keep on slaying

Select items to pick sounds more pratical then pick everything and select items to drop. But it's only my opnion...i mean, they could add that feature, as long as i can turn it off.

Selecting exactly what you want will still make you pick up mostly useless stuff, sometimes the human eye does a much better job. Take Uniques for example, how do the pickup system know which Uniques are worth picking up? A human knows because humans know that a short sword is not going to be anything good. I doubt a pickup system would be made complex enough to select items based on rank, level, etc in a game about simplicity such as Diablo. It would be much simpler to make it pick up all, let's say all Unique items and rare rings, you come across, and then you can manually select which Uniques to keep and easily drop the rest.
