They already made a feature to stop getting pk'd. Password Games. If you want to play public games, limit the levels. The OLD dev team did intend to have pking in the game. The NEW dev team is entirely made up of new people who never worked on Diablo 2. The NEW dev team are largely made up of people who worked on World of Warcraft and thus cater to the casual(or if you will, carebear) market because that is where the money is.
You'll claim this is my opinion and then of course say that your OPINION is fact(which it isn't), but oh well, c'est la vie.
Now, PK wasnt intended by blizzard? lolwut? Did you even played Diablo 1? Do you really think blizzard added a simple click to kill hostile button because they didnt want to encourage pvp/pking? Oh, right, lets just say it was a flaw instead of intended, sigh.....
This is completely missing the point Airandus made, which is this: separate PvE and PvP players.
What would be the downside of allowing PvE players the option to play safely from the danger of getting killed mid-game? You could tick a box whenever you host a game that prevents hostiling.
A password is not an acceptable solution, since then you will be forced to play alone or with people you already know. You can't play with random people without the constant risk of having your gametime obstructed by PKers.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

As i said before, i dont mind pve/pvp only games (im actually hoping for it) but that is hardly a point, the new devteam already stated that PK is out of D3, so carebears ftw.
Otherwise, i will not stay quiet seeing someone vomit things like ´´Pk was not intended by Blizzard´´ and that game was flawed because of it.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
Some say that D1 is way better than D2 because of nostalgia. D2 was a vast improvement over D1. D3 will be an improvement over D2. Sure we will miss certain things, but it's new, it's not D2 in better graphics. I'm sure it's gonna be great in its own way, and do great justice to the franchise. The chance of a flop is the chance of hitting a royal flush in the very first hand you get the very first time you play poker.

Then that is something else, and kind of strange. The point is just as applicable on a game that contains no PvP: why not simply give the player the box so they can choose whether to PK or not?

I think so too, we just gonna have to wait blizzcon and hope for the best.

Statistical data collected has shown that when faced with a yes no and maybe on a survey form most people will choose the maybe, and this is not the case here, so obviously the community expects the game to be good, which will make it an even bigger flop if it flops and gives it more scope for flop

"A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."
Blizzard could never flop in the same sense that the Sun will always rise. Yes, there's a chance it won't for milions of reasons, but it's never failed us before so why worry?

Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Blizzard is one of a few companies that care about the quality of their products. Less chance for a flop.
There is likely going to be a lengthy beta testing process.

Sorry I had to bring this back.
Was Diablo 3 hyped? Yes.
Was it over hyped? No.
People just thought Blizzard couldn't make a bad game.
80% of people back then polled no. Diablo 3 was going to be the sequel to remember.
Keep in mind that during this year, plenty of info was released.
Blizzard you dun ****ed up.
And now this thread will get locked and will not be coming back 5 years later....
