the one thing i would support from wow is the battleground system, that would be pretty sweet if implemented into D3!
I'd like to see something more along the lines of the Arena from WoW, but with Battleground settings (not just deathmatch). Capture the flag, territory control, etc. Relatively small maps with no more than 4v4.
yea team battles would be tyte or a system for barters so you could bet a item/gold against someone that you will win and whoever wins gets whatever prize

I've always liked the idea of wagers too. You both put an item up and duel. but there are many flaws to it. What if someone disconnects during the duel?
I think that Blizzard will find a way to have the score thing work.
For one, the kill must be done in a duel arena, and he has to be within a certain level. And the score will only count after you killed someone 5 times or so within a certain date (because people can just gear up their character and then re-challenge you). The list goes on. They'll figure out something so people can't abuse the score. And if they do, then they really need to get a life
Personally I think you guys are dreaming if you think they're going to add anything pertaining to pvp other than a duel system. This is blizzard we're talking about, their number one priority is pve.
If Blizzard's number one priority was PvE, then why did, during the entirety of Burning Crusade (Not to mention all of Starcraft 2), the focus shift to heavily focused PvP (Arena and BG)? If that were the case, then why is Cataclysm going to rift the Alliance and Horde even more so, to generate more animosity between the two factions, thus igniting more furor in PvP? Please, if you're going to post such claims, be prepared to cite or back it up.
Edit: And no, I'm not a PvP kiddie, I'm actually very much a PvE-er (raider, mf-er, and having funner extraordinaire~).

I think about something, 1 kill per character(you can't rekill the same character or account ?) = 1 score, considering that you have a limited number of character and/or you have a required level (like d2), you can't boost your score with a friend...

What's the things you think they're not going to be ?
Because we don't know anything about duel system and we don't know how big and far it's could be....
And yes the priority is PvE

mmm Bashiok said Diablo is a PvE game, Diablo was always in this way a PvM

How much pve content have they released in the last year. How many new maps have they released for arenas or hell even battlegrounds. That alone should be enough proof that their focus is on pve. I'm a "pvp kiddie" myself but I'm not blind to the fact that their number one focus is pve. Starcraft is an entirely different genre and is based around pvp in the first place.
Well, if you're talking only Diablo II, then I would say you should take a look at all the Chaos/Baal/MF/Trist games. Those are all PvM.
Your forgetting 2 factors.
1. How many chaos/baal games are bots? Last I played at least 3/4.
2. How many people in said games are just leveling/farming wealth for a pvp character?
If you take out pvp completely, so all the people who play it for pvp quit, and get rid of bots, what your left with is your actual pvm players. I'm sure you'll just say NUH UH to anything I say, but there wouldn't be many people left:P

lol you said yourself, is an entirely different genre... Diablo is an other genre... always need to kill monsters to get exp/level... and you need to level to duel... Summary of Diablo = You kill monsters, many monsterssss.

Since Wrath of the Lich King has been released, out of 3 (3.3) major patches, one patch was almost completely PvP, and the other two were at least half PvP related (In balance changes per class based around Arena and PvP), which included one PvP based zone (Wintergrasp), and two Battlegrounds zones (Isle of Conquest and Strand of the Ancients).
Since Wrath of the Lich King has been released, out of 3 major patches, 4 instances (Trial of the Champion, Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection) have been released, three of which were just released with 3.3. Three raids have been opened since the release; Ulduar, Trial of the Grand Champion, and Icecrown Citadel (with Ruby Sanctum on the horizon).
Based on the patches (and patches alone), over half of content (based on the lines provided on the patch notes) are PvP related.
When you overgeneralize by saying "Blizzard"... you speak of it as a whole entity, including its franchises, Starcraft being included.

So you think that 4 group instances and 3 major raid instances all complete with their own achievements based on modes ect. is just minor compared to some balance changes for pvp? You've got to be joking or high if you think Blizzard as a whole isn't a company focused on keeping their pve playerbase happy. *Hint* a large percentage of the people playing wow couldn't give a shit about arenas or bgs. At best it's just a side attraction when they're locked out of group/raid instances.
I still believe that you are wrong. I feel that it's rather even, as far as World of Warcraft is concerned, as to how much development and creation time goes into PvP and PvE. To base your entire argument on how Blizzard "doesn't care about PvP" is ridiculous, grossly over-exaggerated, and unfounded.

@Zoobi and OathofChaos !! hey you are in a diablo 3 forum... go in a WoW forum please....
I don't understand a word of your discution...
Lmao dude... people are allowed to discuss wow related stuff, especially if its related to the current thread's topic... So chill.
Unfortunately, Blizzard did not release much info about pvp in D3, if any at all...
If you look at WoW, you can see the ammount of "PvP content" implemented in the game. I imagine D3 will have a huge focus on PVP too, although they said the main focus of the game will be PVM, playing with your friends.
