I love it, but I'm rather disappointed with the art direction.
Yes, I'm one of those people.
Though, I'm quite hopeful for it to be darkened a bit. When Starcraft II was released, all the colours were ridiculously saturated, and was quite bright overall. Now, with the beta, the colours are much more muted, and it has been darkened. It feels much more Starcrafty...
Hopefully something similar will happen with Diablo.

Saying I love it would be to simple. I'm very fond of most of it. Saying I hate it but, well that would be pretty predictable wouldn't it? Everyone is always gonna have some complaints. If I said, could be better, then maybe I'm one of those people who pretend to know things about making a video game and I would assume that anything and everything I want could be done in a game.
If I said I hate it, well that might just mean I'm some crazy basement dwelling D2 loyalist.

lmao good reply, I was not really expecting too many people who post on these forums to choose I hate it because they're probably in their basement
I'm actually a basement dweller. But the difference is that it is not my mom's basement. So yeah, I get out enough to appreciate what Blizzard has done so far. But I also think Blizzard games have just become overrated anyway.
I love it but..
Pretty much what Zhar said, I think the art style could be better(little less different?). Like how the classes and some monsters look.. don't get me wrong they look awesome but there's just something about it, can't really put my finger on it. But you know D3 isn't made at all by the same team that made D2, so I guess it makes sense why the art isn't the same. Besides that everything looks great.
And anyways who I am to criticize, I wouldn't be able to do what they do so..
take's alot of talent.

This body holding me, reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember... We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
I absolutely despise their ways of just cutting something out or making it a retarded passive just because they couldn't find an immediate solution to an unknown problem they invented.
I really hope they are not doing that too often. Its just lazy as hell.
There are a few reasons why I put "I love it" and not any of the lower options.
For one, I have been waiting for a very very long time for this game and anything is enough to make me happy.
Second, I have to realize that this is Blizzard who we are talking about. They have a very good reputation when it comes to video games, and have been known to stop games in the making because they thought it wouldn't be good enough. So I trust Blizzard to make a very enjoyable game because of their record and I don't think we have enough information to even judge it. (I mean come on, almost none of us have even played the demo version)
I love it but I'm not too hapy about the art direction... no, I'm not one of those people, I just think is not the best blizz can do, and if they say they do things over and over again to make it almost perfect, I think they need a few iterations in the art direction
I like the sound and the music, seems quite good, though there's nothing like D1 in this aspect (I just can't find the same feeling)
something I really love is the gameplay stuff in general, I think they're making a good work about it (skills, pots, energy systems, etc..) I'm looking forward for those changes... sure, they take the risk of fucking the entire franchise with this, but I don't think they're that stupid
Overall disappointed with the art direction myself. Not so much that everything is somewhat colorful, but the fact that we're in 2010 and Blizzard seems to be stuck in their Warcraft 3 era of art. I'm all for gameplay over graphics, but Blizzard can do better than this with their huge developing budget.
I also disalike some details about the art direction. Some monsters looks like something out of ben10 or other retarded cartoon. I dislike artificial colered shining fog to add a more "magical" feeling to the place. I REALLY hate the wizard and the monk machinema.
But overall i love the emphasys in a new and better gameplay.

This has actually made me wonder about some things. What if they stopped making a game because it was actually going to be really horrible as opposed to just not really great? While I thought Warcraft Adventures actually looked like a fun game (sort of in the way that Full Throttle was fun), but maybe they canceled it because instead of just not being really fantastic and great, it actually just plain sucked. I'm not entirely sure what my point is yet, but I think I'm almost there. Oh, so like, World of Warcraft looks like a terrible game to me quality wise. I've never actually played it so granted, I can't ultimately say, and I do realize it's silly to say something sucks if I've never tried it. But man, the graphics in that game look like one of those free MMO games always being advertised on torrent sites. Someone might just drop along and read this and respond that, well, it's a huge game and so obviously they can't make the game look good as something smaller and....
Shoot, I really forget the point I was trying to make. Nevermind.
All I saw was you judging the game because of the way it looks.
I never particularily enjoyed WoW's look either, in fact hated it at first, but I played quite a bit and enjoyed it, even if I'm not a fan of the art style, the world feels a lot more realistic and enjoyable than I first thought.
At least, WoW doesn't ask more than its monthly fee for you to get the full experience, unlike the thousands of other MMO out there. I hate MMO and enjoyed it, but like any MMO its deeply flawed in many ways...
I have no idea why you randomly bash it though. You said it yourself, you never played it. But I'm not saying you should.
And if you are in any way afraid that they could... I don't know... cancel D3 because it sucks too much... (because thats the only possible point I got from what you were trying to say), then that wouln't happen after all they did with it and with so many people excited about it.
Kinda the opposite of that Warcraft Adventures. I have never heard of it, ever... I'm sure not many did, and they cancelled it. Little harm done, unless D3 which has the entire D2 fan base excited (with the 0.1% in rage) and most can't wait for it.
Besides, the game is developing very well in general, so it seems anyway... even if their target audience seems to be more Childs and Idiots...
I'm not worried they cancel D3. And yes, I judge WoW largely on its looks which I usually never do with a game as I am very content to play much older games with far less sophisticated graphics. Although I've seen lots of games with less sophisticated graphics that look way more aesthetically pleasing than WoW does in my opinion.
I think one point I'd like to try and make, is yes, I like a lot of things they've done up to this point. But for how many years it's been since the release of D2, I'm actually not that impressed. I think their whole ideology of we'll get it done when we get it done only serves them to a point. The quality of a game means nothing if you're not even experiencing the game.
There is a time frame in my own mind where I can be very excited about a game coming out and I'll have a lot of patience for that game to come out. But as that time frame expires, I begin to lose interest in the game. And the longer it takes for the game to come out, the better you think it could only be. But the problem with that is the longer and longer they take to make it, it seems like people's expectations by now would be so high that it would be difficult to satisfy that many people anymore. And I don't wish to speak for other people, but with myself, I think that if D3 has taken so long to come out, the amount of time I've been waiting can do one of two things two me: either make my expectations so freaking high that I probably will be disappointed in the end; or, I've waited so long that I just started to lose overall interest in the game anyway.
I won't pretend for a moment that I'm not going to buy the game. And I'll most definitely enjoy it. But as far as my attitude on the overall Diablo franchise at this point, well it's pretty soured.
I think this problem of mine is only exacerbated as well when the D3 website will have one little update from time to time just to keep people constantly checking the site for anything new. Like for example, the female Monk. Yes it was cool to see, and yes, in time they also showed us the male Wizard and female Barbarian, but why even do it that way? Why not just release both genders for every announced class all at once. I just strongly suspect they had the models done for the other genders for sometime. But they like to just gradually release each one to try and maintain the hype of this game. It feels like being jerked around though. Meh.
I am almost completely neutral about it. At least I think so.
I was so excited by the initial official announcement. D2 had been such a huge game for me.
It's just that I think keeping such enthusiasm for a game for x (x= how many years) of development is...impossible.
For some people it turns to frustration and now and then you'll get the typical weirdo popping up with a thread about how much they hate this and that and they hate blizz and they hate diablo 3.
But it turns out it's just a game in the end. My anticipation will climb back to super-high once we get closer to the release date(I hope). Don't want to think about it too much until then.
Now to get back on topic- the development eh? Slow I guess. Nothing against color whatsoever. D2 had a lot of green fields as far as I remember. If you want to compare it to diablo 1, then it's a different matter. A few of the game systems and mechanics puzzle me, but I have to remind myself it's not a D2 expansion but a new game.
I keep thinking- it would be hilarious if I lost interest in games when D3 comes out.
*I need to be exorcised I think*
I'm not sure how we can rate the development of this game as we know little to nothing about it. And everything we do know could change tomorrow.
Pretend theres a "so far" in the end of the pool name XD

Amen, dude.
He have over-hyped so much that i no longer believe him. Actually i no longer believe in blizz, they have abused hype to a ridicolous point.
I still can't believe they saying 1.13 patch will be great and all i saw was minor fixes and a class balancement that can only be made for someone who does not even play the game. Argh...
And i can't even imagine how things gonna be if they start to act like actvision and use 50%+ of the budgets in mechadise.
