My worst fears are being confirmed? Diablo 3 is again on the backburner when it comes to its release. Blizzard have stated that TWO titles will be released in 2010. One of course, is Starcraft 2. Fair enough, it was announced a long time ago. The other title due in 2010 is WoW Cataclysm. Blizzard needs to keep the money machine printing. I did freeze my account months ago and I suspect I?m not the only one. Here?s the confirmation from Shacknews: ?Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime has confirmed that just-revealed World of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm and StarCraft II are the two titles the company expects to hit in 2010″.
Thanks, I thought so too. Yea I saw the one email thing I was like omfg im checking my email 12 times a day starting in january lol, not going to miss it.

Lol. Forget the Zackarum, we need our own church lol. We are like The Diabloaires (like legionaires that follow a kind, we follow diablo). We come to pay our daily worship to Diablofans amoung others.

Probably not for awhile, in reality, probably not untill at EARLIEST 3rd-4th quarter 2010, but none the less, its a mailing list so we know when its released BETA.

I applaud Blizzard for their conduct on these things, for me setting a release date is giving the developer a time frame in which things have to be completed by, and if they don't deliver they get lynched by the mob.. We all know that a rushed job is never as good as a thorough and completed job. I for one do not mind waiting the extra time for something that is going to be completely polished and not rough around the edges. Blizzard have not made any promises on a release time, so we all sit here fidgeting waiting for an announcement, and I'm sure when they are ready and are completely confident of a release date they'll give one to us. 2011, 2012? who knows as long as the game lives up to expectations, i will be a very pleased man.
June 29, 2011 might be an interesting day. On that day, a decade has passed since the last Diablo game was released (LOD).
I find that interestiing since D3 was revealed June 28th. Who kniws...
And to Luuppi its since been confirmed both are being released in 2010, theonly thing that could change that is a serious screw up somewhere in the game, and that even wont result in D3 2010.
And Maxmusje, Im thing more 2011 for one reason. Blizz in the past has released ONE big name project a year. 2010 will see TWO. Now, WHY would blizz change things? Because If they left it at one thing a year, D3 COULDNT hit untill 2012, but by doing a double feature 2010, it opens up D3 for 2011. Especially seeing as SC2 entirely was broken up into 3 games, it makes it more plausible that WoW expansion and SC WoL is 2010, and then D3 and SC2 part2, is 2011, if blizz wants another double feature, because otherwise, SC2 will take 4 years (2010 part one, skip 2011, 2012 part 2, 2013 part 3) to get the INITIAL game out, becuase it was split.

This is sad news. I didn't think they would need until 2011. Honestly, this is not a very complex game. It uses run of the mill graphics, doesn't require any cutting edge technology, doesn't require a complex plot line or very in-depth quests, all that it really needs is a bit of content creation (which can be done in parallel by a team of artists) and some balanced character skill trees. How is it possible for a company of Blizzard's size to spend so many years on this? It boggles my mind.
Just look at Torchlight, it seems to be about the same complexity as D3, only lacking in multiplayer support...and was created in under a year by a small team.
No. Blizzard has openly stated they were releaseing One MAIN NAME title a year, obviously until now. Yes, WHEN ITS READY but its maticulously worked in with that blizzard magic, that theyve done One main Title a year, untill 2010 now. Common Knowledge.

yea, to talk about whats taking time, lets see.
*Working Rune systems
*Working Gem systems
*Working PvP System
*Working energy system(s)
*Working all different customizable random generated areas.
**They DO want more indepth story and quests, that requires more work to mesh together
*Random generated quest, and how to work them
*Difference in areas, different acts require major difference in style and customization
*Working the storyline CORRECTLY so there ideas for expansions WORK
*Difference in towns and areas, working out NPC stories because many are areturning form different places, games, books and all.
*Working all bestiary, seems more complex than previous games.
And theres alot more. And want to know why Torchlight came about so fast with a little team? Half there team (and half he game) is from FATE. So half the features of the game, are already worked, and 100% the same form FATE and FATE2. The other half is blizzard ex employees who already know how to work in the diablo aspects they want. Its all fas twork because its essentially combining two games that already existed and changing some aspects.
