My LOD CD exploded the day before the nocd patch, and took my DVD drive with it....
Well I'm east coast thankfully so at midnight launch (which will happen I'm sure) I will first smell the books (yes I'm weird like that....new game smell is great) and then read them while installing. Hopefully I'll be one of the first onto bnet so I can claim my name. I'll prob make a Witch Doctor or one of the other unannounced classes before making a wizard or barb. I want the first few hours to be completely new. I'm also betting 4 days will pass before I realize I've forgotten to eat or sleep or go to work.

"Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" ~ Diablo (II)
I did this years ago every time my buddy and I would drive all the way to the city to buy a new release. On the drive home I would open the game package and sniff it like crazy. My friend would always be like "what the crap are you doing?"
I THINK I plan on playing the game by myself, but online. If I dont screw up the tree I will keep that character and progress him online so that I dont get left behind

I think i'm quite different in how i play a game. Firstly i will read the manual, extensively, that is if its any good (which i hope it will be). What i won't be doing is bothering myself with a) getting rich quickly and trying out each and every class. Hopefully i'm having a clear idea of who i want to play, not only who but how also. I won't be testing out each and every skill on the go, thats no fun. I will be having an idea of what skills to choose, will they suck or not? Who knows, i don't have other points of reference (aside from other players obviously). I will probably be playing this one character for a long time, rebuilding him if i deem it necessary. Only if i have a feel for this (type of) character i will be choosing another one to play, probably one thats the farthest away concerning playstyle (barbarian, wizard for example).
Thats how i played D1 (i first played the rogue extensively, then the warrior and as last the sorcerer) and thats how i played D2 (first the barbarian extensively, then the necro, then the sorceress and only much much later the druid, then the amazon, then the paladin and lastly the assassin).
Also, i will be smelling, ah the smell.
Its not that differently, lol...
Everyone will read the booklet. Some people either try out all characters, and choose one to stay with. Or some level them all up evenly. Or people like, me stick with one character till higher levels where it really gets fun..
