the ability to go hostile at will and hunt some noobies or people who were up for it was one of the most entertaining parts of the game. i dont think they should change that.:offtopic:
Nor do I but that doesnt mean they should not give serious pvp focus and attention...its what many many peoiple will continue to play the game for and having a ladder for it sure would be sweet. Just imagine seeing a diablo game played by pro gamers at those nerd conventions giving out prizes...that would rock
I'm a solo whore typically so it never really phased me one bit but 4 does tend on the low side with these games, 5 would be fine because you could represent all the classes but 4 seems to me like they personally want that extra class left out to make it harder for the players in general and to really push teamwork even if you really don't need it to complete the game.
this is outrageous... 4 players?! pfftt that sucks balls, id rather play with 8 people and put up with a little lag, for people who like less people ingame theres an option to set the number of players so its not an issue for them at all, personally i have 4 friends waiting for this game, that makes 5 of us, if i cant play with them all in one game then that BLOWS. the devs need to be consistent and keep the 8 player limit imho, a major aspect of l.o.d was that u could join a game with a juicy variation of classes to keep things interesting... 4 players is a nono!!
I only play with one friend on bnet and that is my bestfriend irl
so the number 4 is ok with me

flyarion, flyarion_third, flyarion_fourth, flyarion_fifth
Meh... I really hope they stick to the usual 8. You cant have a good pvp game with only 4 people...And it would be logical if it was atleast 5 so each class could be represented.

I have no problem with 4 players per game. Things will be a little more managable with only 3 other players killing stuff around you. You'll also be able to get your fair share of bashing or electrocuting.
Magic finding (mfing) will change because each player gets their own seperate loot, so I'd be willing to bet that there would be MF parties, if indeed Diablo III has a magic find system that effects the drops. I guess that would be somewhat neat, to have treasure hunting parties.
I say keep it at 8 that way it pleases everyone simply because you can limit the amount of people you want in your game. If you wanted 4 that's fine, and if you want 8, go for it.
Another reason why 4 is kind of an off number is there would always be 1 class you couldn't have in the game which is wierd...like having a 3 player Ninja Turtles game....
Set it to a cap of 8 again and let the people decide how many they want, best solution.
Do remember they said that 4 is not in any way the final number, just something they thought would be good. If demand is high enough, they'll make it higher. God knows it wouldn't be hard to do.
i would have thought they would gone with 6.
after seeing the gameplay videos i would think that one of the reasons for a smaller party would be the maps.
4 players seem to be just right for the map size, 8 would be mean the maps would get cramped around bridges and access roads
95% of me doesn't really care, because I never really do pubs and only play with a couple friends anyways, but I think 5% of me wants it raised to 5 - 1 for each class.

That's disgusting... If it's actually 4 I'm going to be extremely disappointed...
There we go....hopefully it will increase later....probably wont but oh well

That was I thought as well, but also remember that they barely showed anything in the Gameplay Trailer.
Not only that but it was tailor made to show off certain game mechanics....some of that may nvr actually be in the final game
Edit: dont mean game mechanics that my nvr make it in the final I mean the areas they explore
so the number 4 is ok with me
