I think most of the other classes are actually playable...
Now, how many classes announced for sure so far? Okay, now what does the above mean?
I'd say that "most of the other classes..." would have to mean three minimum as you can't say "most" if there are only one or two more classes.
So we're guaranteed a minimum of six classes then. Unless anyone has a different take or estimation?

So we've got over the problem of colour in D3. Great. Now let's argue about everything else not yet set in stone and help make this game simply great! Game on.
They have stated that there will be 5 classes upon release. They also stated that there may be more with expansions, so it would not be a far stretch to imagine at the very least 2 expansions with at the very least 1 character, though most likely 2 each, thus bringing us to at the minimum of 7, but realistically, when Diablo 3 and it's expansions are out, it is viable to say that there may be upwards of 9 characters that one could play.
Not so sure about all the expansions but it would seem strange that any classes slated for expansions are even playable at this stage.
We've had three classes so far and Bashiok's language leads me to think at least three more. Thus six. But then five have been announced. Bashiok's words were very carefully chosen as he was seeking a definitive clarification of previous loose talk.
He said this about two weeks ago but the most recent class predates that I think. Thus I still think six.
When was five announced? Did it seem definite or was there scope for "movement"?

Nooo, don't choose to believe that casual conversation-style gramma is more indicative than actual specifically stated facts. Thats the kind of thing reporters do just to get attention and cause a stir. Blizzard specifically stated five classes many many times, including in the faq section on the DIII website, so there are five.

That would be pretty amazing. But why would they release 4 expansions?
I was refering to 2 expansions with 1-2 characters each, as they DID say that they plan to release multiple expansions, meaning 2-4 characters more after initial release.

Yes, they have said multiple times that the initial release game will have five.

K. But I still don't think there will 4 expansions... 2 seems reasonable. So that would mean that there would be 6-8 classes to choose from.
