In the previews games Druability seemed like a bother and did not add any value to the gameplay and was not that fun. Your items required constant managing. Also what is the point of having to Identify items. Your comments are welcome.

Looks like our well meaning heros have woken up something nasttyy
identifying items is, like, crucial for so many reasons in my book there's no point in going over them. I simply wouldn't finish the list. But I agree on the durability thing, but i'd love if there was a certain type of item that did have a deterioration (ethereal-esque)
Well, um, they already removed durability. I'm a little worried myself. If you look at one thing or another, you might think, "well, this is just a hassle," but if you remove all of them, you will never be in a situation where you have to think about what to do. Like the guy above me said, you had to figure out a way to save your self if you ran out of potions, TPs, durability in the middle of a fight. So far, Jay and Bashiok have told us how dangerous and adventurous getting health orbs will be, but it looks like there using that as a replacement for all the other stuff.
Again, this is not better or worse (until we can play it ourselves), but it definitely different, and when you change things in a franchise like Diablo, the change has to be at least twice as good, or else everyone will hate it and wonder wtf they changed something that wasn't broken.

D3 Pros: Outdoors environment, night time environment, female Barbarian, rune spell system, the Wizard class
D3 Cons: Fantasy architecture, fantasy armor, fanstasy weapons, no shaders.
the cool thing about id scrolls is that when you see a unique item. it could be a unique ring. you find in hell. agianst meph. of course what your first response. "oh i hope its soj" and then you id it. and it a nagel. lol. this is why id scrolls need to stick around. to get us going and getting excited about an item. then you find the item not so good then your all like. "damn.......cant believe it"
durability....ehhhh....might work. might not. who knows.
They should keep both. Especially Identify, this is crucial to the loot system, imo. You have no idea what you get and all that stuff. There's a thrill
got to agree with that. the thrill before identifying a unique (especially jewelry since all of them are rings/amulets) and most rares was one of the best parts of the game!
Scrolls are worthless? I wish theyd bring back the scroll variety from d1. I felt it was a mistake to have so few scrolls in d2. Having that variety helped make things more interesting.

Did they really? :/
I agree with you. Another d3 decision I'm NOT excited about
Well actually, they put so much care in this gameplay vid that I highly doubt they wouldn't have displayed durability if it was planned. So I think it's safe to say there isn't any durability on items, which is sad.
Even if they did, item stats shown are completely generic and without any design. What you say is pure speculation.
You guys are crazy, durability kicked ass. It gave a major role for the blacksmiths in each town, gave the game a really realistic touch, and made character management much more interesting. Oh yeah, I'm slicing through hell, OH SHIT, MY ITEM IS NOW USELESS!! It's interesting, it's great, it should've been kept.
thus spending gold on repairing highly valued items seems like a logical conclusion.
That's an EXCELLENT idea if done well. If done poorly, a level 80 character can farm enough gold to repair his own items easily and has no need to trade for gold, hence making gold remain useless. If done well, a level 80-90 character cant possibly farm enough gold to sustain his godly items individually -- forcing him to trade items for gold to repair his best worn items. This would keep gold in the market and make it tradeable for anything.
For the record, I don't like posting facts that haven't come from Bashiok, Jay, or anyone else from Blizzard.

ID scrolls should stay, it adds excitement and another strategy of trading. People would trade unid stuff to try to increase the value to people who felt lucky. A perfect shako is worth more than the worst shako, but an unid shako is somewhere inbetween but its worth also depends if the person has a gambling addiction or not:) Point being you might be able to get more for an unid shako than an average shako.

100%
I loved those moments: "Hey, a unique ring dropped!" You'd get the typical reply of: "Meh, Nagel or some shit." Then it just happens to be an SoJ or BK, those were the moments of Diablo that none of us can forget.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Oh the big variety in LOD 50 more Defence in perfect WOW... now I can't be hit!! And unid is worth more just because of dupes right?
