Well, I played WOW and I got to level 21, it was good in the way that you always wanted to level up to get that next summon, spell, or what ever. But, it was bad in a few ways, one is that it was too slow, 2 was that the skills were kinda or boring (Other than summoning), and three is the one I'm worried about in Diablo 3. The Loot. In WOW the loots pretty boring (at least at low levels, I searched up high level loot, and that doesn't look too good either) In WOW, the loot's just lacking power, I think it was needing of skill ups and other awesome attributes.
If it's loot is like D2 then you can get yellows almost right out of the starting town. You're almost guaranteed a few yellows during the first act.
Diablo has never been as slow of leveling as a MMO. At least not in the first 30 or so levels so you can have every skill.
Skills in D2 seemed pretty fun to me, I was always making a new character to try a different skill tree or build. A few were boring, but the majority to me were pretty awesome.
DII drops are oriented a bit differently, but I don't think they are all that better than WoW drops... and, WoW is a PvE oriented MMO, so it has slow leveling. For fast leveling, see Guild Wars. For I-don't-care-what-my-level-is, see Eve Online.

I want D3 to have more "exciting" items than WOW, I mean, even the endgame armors in WOW aren't that exciting.
The opposite?....
Like I feel like in WOW, too much of it is straight forward attack and defense.

I'm sure the D3 items will have a lot more in common stat wise to D2, than to WoW.
D3 has always been a lot more diverse partly because of the ability to get randomized rare and magic items. You will almost never see the same magic item, and I don't think it's even possible to get the same rare really.
What WoW has can be more portrayed to uniques and set items. Which even D2 uniques and sets beat out WoW items any day in my opinion.

Exactly, I just want Diablo 3 to have cooler loot.

Well I didn't mean they were better (if you're talking about my post).
I just meant all the transitions happen pretty fast.
If you're persistent enough you can get white/blue/green/gold/yellow items all in the first act or two.
They're usually low level versions of each, but it makes you FEEL like you're getting more. Rather than just white/green/occasional blue.

Im certain it will, it'd be a pretty big failure if they removed the randomization of stats on items.
I think Hello Kitty Island Adventure beat WOW
Yes, that was the demo, I didn't buy it because it looked like I'd waste too much time on something that wasn't fun.
