That was a pointless post, I know you just said that.
My point is there are ones in D2, so there will most likely be some in D3. They're going to get spammed no matter what, so why not add some in to make the spamming more of a variety?

I dont want them to lose time even if it takes 10 minutes to implement.:P
They could further test and polish the more important features in that time.
I don't care much for spamming. Idiots are idiots. Whether they spam sitting and shouting or "u nub, u nub, <insert some nasty cussing in here>" doesn't really make much of a difference. You can as well disable chat.
Edit: also saying "I just said that" wasn't my whole post if you didn't notice.
Actually, at the time I posted, it was. Check the timestamps. Which was my whole point. I didn't see a need for you to make a post saying. "ORLY I JUST SED DAT!" Of course I know you just said that, that's why it wasn't my whole post.
I said D2 had emotes, so we can expect at least some in D3.
I would love to see a whole list of emotes that can be unlocked though random childish town quests
Like find charlie's chicken and you get the chicken dance emote
Emotes should only be allowed in town though, i dont want little kids running around chicken dancing]
I'd love to see some funny ass emotes though
maybe some quotes and gestures too
-slit throat gesture
-thumbs up
-fart
-"ill be back"
-'shut up'
-disco dance
-smack someone upside the head (full animation for smacker and recieverl)
-'I smell death in the air, Oh nevermind I farted"
-belch
It would be awsome if there could be many versions of things
you could get emotes for all types of farts or burps lol
Furthermore, it would be awsome if you could purchase shrooms or weed, called something else like magical herb and shamanic mushrooms and your screen would distort
Also going to a bar and get drunk so you run all crooked and shit lol
I hate hearing the whole "don't divert devs from making the game". This isn't some commercial project that has to be done before a deadline or something. It's an artistic project, and the devs should be free to do whatever they feel like, and maybe one day one of the devs is tired so he wants to do something simple and he adds emotes... It's not like "OK we gotta add emotes now lets add 2 days for that"... >_<
You know guys, I can't believe no one has actually mentioned this, but...
Everyone seems to drag WoW into this whole thing, and endlessly again (what else, right). Didn't emotes in WoW work this way: you select another player or NPC, and laugh at him, dance with him, point at him, etc. You can't select things in D3! That kind of defeats the purpose to one degree, and also narrows the possibilities to another.
Another thing. How many people actually used those vocal emotes that existed in D1 and D2? In fact, they were actually kind of useful for getting short messages across to your mate while you were in combat, but noone really used them either way. It's just a fast game with small parties, lonely game rooms, gameplay that comes down purely to grinding and literally nothing else. Socializing? PvPing? Hardly.
r u kidden me? emotes...?? All they need is more soundboard things like in D2, if u press like number 3 ur char wud say somthing

No. Selecting another player was not necessary. All you had to do was type /[insert emote here] You could even do it if no one way around.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Yeah but then how would a player know you're performing an emote on him if there's several people around? Also some of them make no sense. Like, you declare hostility and perform a slit-throat emote (like the one Druid does in the character selection screen) but facing your back to the other guy. Kinda silly if you ask me.
However, I think there could be some more of those vocal emotes, but this time I'm thinking about things like /oom and /heal (maybe the're won't be any healing but just making a point). Things that would actually be useful in battle when you don't have time to type.

I'm sure they plan to implement some already.
I don't want it to take up time either but...
Me: they occasionally spam the ones in d2
you: they spam the ones in d2.
And how about add nothing so they can't be spammed.

Not, "ORLY I JUST SED DAT!"
And, I know it was all that was there when you read it because I was editing it at the time, thats why I posted that edit so you could see know that.
I had to get a couple quotes in it, then I decided to only use 1 other so it took a while.
Well the talking things, I guess you could call them emotes.
It was numberpad keys I think.
I could be wrong though.

I just don't see emotes working.

/esc - Disconnects your player from B.net and keeps you from logging in for 10minutes.

All of the other emotes were just time wasters, time that you're paying for I might add.
And to be on topic, no emotes IMO.
