Male, but I think I've said it before. Where there's a female to be played there's a whore to be made, and I will not rest until I've played as a whorey protagonist in a game. So, whoever has the most sluttly looking character model gets my pick.
I'm a male in real life, but I plan to use a majority of male characters and a female if I get bored of the same model or to see how the armour changes corresponding to gender.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
I'm female, my favorite char to play is barb. Nothing to do with me wanting to be manish or hiding from guys wanting to bug female players, just prefer that style of fighting. I will try out the female version of the barb as well as the male version.

I'm female as well and will be playing both, I like having choices when making a chr. I am looking forward to the differant looks for the chrs, If I find a look I like I will go with it.
I for one will only play mae I have trouble playing as a woman because she gets hit and makes a girly noise and im just like "ugh thats totaly not me"
I prefer playing as a male i guess because I love the idea of me being a badass demon slayer. Pluss my oldest brother and I always made fun of my other brother because he always played as the Zon, but then after that noticed he pretty much always just played as women in every game haha he will never live down never playing as a male!

YUCK!
i prefer to play a character i can see as a buffed up (or magical, or whatever) version of myself. i enjoy the roleplaying aspect, although not many people get into that. it just depends how far you're willing to go with the roleplaying aspect, since it isn't a requirement and is fully up to the player to decide on.
that way, when i'm with friends, they can see the character as "me," whereas when i play with others, who don't know me personally, all they know about me is decided by how i type and how my character looks

i like to play both genders. I normally try to make one of each, but with the ability to make different gender characters I'll probably now make two of each.
I dont feel insulted dying from a female character for two reasons.
1, Not a sexist.
2, I figure automatically that it's a guy anyway. Which sorta counters my first one, but hey, it's the truth. Usually it's a guy, so the attempt at insult makes me smile for not falling for it

I'll go as a male, as I am a male, and I can put myself in his shoes. I do expect many men to play as women to be pervs and I expect many women to play as men to keep away from the pervs, though.
My Honest opinion about the Gender Creation is whatever you like in the class. Wild ideas for class genders like me for instants, I've played WoW for like 4 hours when it came out and didn't care for it but always started out with a Female model for any class. Same goes for the 4 years I spent playing City of Heroes, about 6 Female and 5 male Models. Gotta have something good to look at when your playing :P.
I'm gonna go with what I generally do in these games: the more macho a class seems, the more appropriate it is to be a male character. Fragile classes such as distance fighters will tend more towards females.
I don't know where I've picked up this habit, and it is very odd according to some of the people I play with, but when I create a character in any game it seems like the choosing is done by itself for me/
Win.
I can't imagine a female Barbarian unless she plans to bake cookies.

That was funny.

i name them similar to your code but otherwise do the opposite
macho classes are girls with boy-like names (main chars)
fragile classes are males with effeminate names (just utility alts)

Don't you know Red Sonja?
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
I'll start with the female wizard so far, but i guess i'll play both genders of every character
