If u want long dungeons.. play ADOM theres one massive I think infinite actually .P
But yea bigger towns maybe some bigger dungeons too.. but also wide open areas that will get you the feeling of the world.
Big cities are only practical if you have people to fill them with. Multiple useless npcs are well, useless, and as the game is gonna be 4-6 players, I highly doubt there is use for anything bigger than Lut Gholein (sp?).
Who said 4-6? I think they were talking about 8 players and can put up even more but they liked the game with smaller groups 4? I really hope at least 12 players / game but with a group cap of 4 maybe.
I hope that they have BIG open fields (seemed pretty decent...kinda zelda like in the video), with big dungeons that have multiple routes, like in Diablo 2...the one in the video was a line and only had one way to go. I'm thinking that this was for the purpose of the demonstration (how would other people cross a broken bridge if they don't have leap attack?), but you never know. I combination of more tight places with fewer options (sorta like the video but a bit more ways to go) could be a good mix in the game...sorta like the maggot lair...it had different ways but was sorta linear too..
bottom line is i sure as hell hope there are plenty of big open fields and dungeons with multiple paths to go that meet up and don't like in diablo 2.
oh and people talking about floor lvls are kinda assuming right? because it IS 3d now and if they have floor lvls it may not be done like that...not only that but we don't know if they will implement floor lvls (i hope so).
Again the TC is one of the many persones who doesn't understand Diablo. Why would you want to have bigger towns ? What good could come out of it ? You didn't give any reason for it. The only thing bigger towns is gonna do is take you even longer to go to the merchands/get your quests and keep you away from demons slaying time...
AGAIN, ATTENTION EVERYONE, DIABLO IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ACTION ADVENTURE GAME BEFORE AN RPG. For the love of god keep that in mind. -sigh-
They should have bigger cities but mainly more interaction. Even thou Diablo is an action game I think it would be better if they added some more RPG influence to it. Roaming through the towns in Baldurs Gate actually felt like the town was alive and added more depth to the game. I say people who wanna explore the town can, and if you don't want to don't. The towns in Diablo 2 were pretty generic, although It could also have to do with the NPC interaction.

Sure, it fit the style of what was going on. You had a healer, a Merc person, a gambler, an armorer/black smith, Cain, and 2-4 other characters for idle banter (maybe a quest) and means of moving the story (Warriv etc)
So in that right it fit.
I think I would like some expansion of the towns, MAYBE something similar to Baldur's Gate:SOA. And with all the questing that's supposed to happen, this could only help. -shrug-
I dunno, the towns seem to be there only to fill a basic need. They are a stopping place to rest, recover a bit, with a little eye candy to advance the story.
I don't really feel they need to make a "big city", as I was happy with the towns in Diablo 2.

Petitions are bogus and invalid, when anyone can sign up multiple times using fake names. The end result is that valid concerns fail to get heard, when drowned out like this.
Im all for the bigger cities. As for the dungeons I think that mabey you can get different style of armor or weapons that are ancient kind of. Mabey you can get old D2 gears as you progress further down a dungeon. If they did make the dungeons multi level then atleast make the top of the dungeon a bit more modern then if you where down 20levels that way it looks kind of more realistic
I dont think the towns should be much bigger than they are. I think in one of the videos a game will only be able to support about 8 players. The towns dont really have a use for large areas if only 8 players are going to be in the game at a single point in time. If they do make it bigger i hope they add NPC's with a purpose not just random people to talk too. I have a feeling like filler NPCs will just get annoying.

I'd like to see some in-town fighting myself.
Another person to add to the list...
