Is that your personal speculation, or has Blizzard actually said that? I don't mean to be picky, but I personally haven't heard Blizz saying this, and I wanna be sure with all the false facts flying around.
It will be M. Even looking at the demo videos, its obviously rated M. Blood spewing, entrails/gore, violence, demonic suggestions = M rating, just like the previous 3 diablo games.

It's 3am. rain. thunder, lightning. silence. silence. thunder. wind, howling wind. pricks of sound the rain makes. slowly. as it trickles down your roof. behold the solemn nature. behold the beauty of the storm.
From what I've seen I think it will be 'M' and I'm certainly hoping it will be. And mind you we have only seen pretty much the intro area. I'm sure the game gets much more intense and gruesome and demonic as it goes along.
Just a quick thing I saw on the Ratings Board site...
I wonder why Diablo hasn't been considered an Adult game.
From site:
Titles rated AO (Adults Only) have content that should only be played by persons 18 years and older. Titles in this category may include prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity.
Where as mature is:
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
Seems like how MUCH is the factor here.....-shrug-

"[Diablo1+2] obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games."
"We want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice." -Rob Pardo
"Why the hell shouldn't it be for 'kiddies', it's a goddamn game afterall." -lethlan
You must enter your birthdate to view much of the content - indicating Diablo III is aimed at Mature audiences. But this is no deviation from its predecessors - so no surprise there.
Also, at Equinox - Diablo 1 and 2 both had topless creatures (forget their names - the chicks who spat red, glittering orbs at you), therefore nudity was present.
Try searching by M rating. Then try typing "Diablo" in the search box.
Notice a trend? b&g + violence = M
Not to mention the demonic suggestions and hellish theme of diablo 3, and the fact that all previous diablo games were rated M.

Would you still play it?
Do you even think it WILL have its rating changed?
Add any other questions/comments/concerns.

This opinion however is simply based off of what I saw and what I've seen in other games with T ratings.

Well I was going to say that and language.
But it seemed like the violence made up for it.
Again, just an observation/opinion.
Thats just Diablo...
mostly because of the slaughtering and blood.
Some minor sexual content, alcohol i guess?
