That`s cool but will be seeing only 5 at start!
Its clear about the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor, so the other three are prolly
1.Mage/Elementalist/Sorcerer/Conjurer/Enchanter/Warlock(I dont think shaman is likely because the Witch Doctor seems to be a mix between a Necro and a Shaman) - basically the pure magic class, I doubt Blizzard will skip it, so its pretty obvious! The only question is about its name;)
2.Rogue/Ranger/Weaponmaster/Bladedancer(you get the idea:P) - the agile character, prolly specialised in bows, crosbows(no guns please!)/javelins,spears/daggers,claws,shurikens,other exotic weapon
3.Hmm everyone says the the Pala, but I think the Paladin character is overused by Blizzard! They should bring something slightly different! Lets call it the Monk. It should be mix between the classic and maybe NINJA or something other along the asian warrior types. So it will basically specialise in Holy spells(auras, blessings and all other classic pala features)/martial arts(fight with henzo swords, shurikens, the thrown stars- dont know how are they called, and other asian weapons you watched from the films with Bruce Lee! The third specialisation will be Discpline, focusing on unarmed combat and improving the Monk`s mental and physical strentgh!
That are my ideas for the other 3 classes! I`m sure they will release 2,3 or even 4 more when the expansion comes!(You know Blizz always makes expansions)
P.S. Sorry for the bad spelling on places, but I`m kinda in a hurry;)
There might only be 5 classes, but don't forget we have no idea how customizable these characters may be. We don't know the skill or stat systems yet. Two barbarians could end up being very different, making it seem a lot more robust than simply adding 2 more characters. I'm all for a lot of characters, but I'd love to see a lot of different builds. I don't want it to be like WoW, where all high level characters are the same.
I believe Blizzard will try to do something more "out of the box", here are my predictions/ideas
"Fight fire with fire"
This man and woman were forced to hide in the aftermath of the Mage Clan Wars, much of them perished and many more felt to the arts they claimed to control. Some few however trough sheer will, revenge or both managed to mantain sanity and continue their control on the demonic forces they tempered with and in a sort to redeem themselves or seek power they set them upon the Prime Evils.
Basically Necro+Sorc, controls Demons, uses Fire and Frost and might turn into a Demon
With the unveil of the corruption of the High Council of Kurast and the corruption of many of the Zakarum Warriors at the hands of Mephisto, a powerful blow was struck on the Zakarum Faith. Many abandoned their faiths or prefered death to the shame of such, others continued as nothing was and tried to cover this incident, others... specially former templars of Kurast took this on a more personal way. They became Pariahs, sworn to avenge the corruption of their breathen, fighting with reckless abandon and fanatism, shielded only by their faith.
Basically Pala+Berseker, uses Holy spells and Fanatism (like Berserk) also can heal.
The story is pretty much written on them, basically Assa+Zon. Also can become Stealthed.
Those are my suggestions, purely fanmade, probably won't see light of day.
I personally think they'll still have a Necromancer. In Diablo 2, there were two summoning classes. The druid and necromancer. I think the Witch Doctor takes up the druid, as it's more shamanistic, while the necromancer is more bone/curses/poisons. Like when the Witch Doc conjured up that mongrel thing...definitely not very Necro-mantic. So I think (and hope) that they'll bring back the Necro. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see a priest, or full healer-type class, as they're are making character rely more on heals than potions now. Plus, there's always an expansion with two more classes. =P

The Vampire Lives Eternally. It Was Promised Eternal Death.
Im really hoping for a return of a necro, although im trying not to get my hopes up. What i'm really wondering though, is where everyone got the "there will be 5 classes at release" thing. Was this officially confirmed somewhere?
