FlashFire build, and you faceroll the Tal'Rasha Set Dungeon.
The conquest (Avarice) for getting 50m is very easy with that same FlashFire build.
The grift 45 without set items conquest (The Thrill) is easy doable with a DMO-ish build.
Further, you can also do the sprinter conquest the best with a wizard.
Sprinter conquest can be done with a Crusader, Wiz, or DH. Wiz does have an advantage in that it can easy cross over barriers, but still.
Wizard has the weakest starter set out of all of the classes (Firebirds, low damage outside of elites, no toughness), whereas DH can immediately down T6 with just two pieces (600% increased damage with a melee weapon), can down T7-8 with 4 pieces (Perma Shadow Cloak), and has extremely powerful single-target for T10 (Which allows you to quickly do ubers, and a number of T10 bounties).
Wizard, however, has very strong late-game damage - Flashfire speed build can quickly do T10 rifts/bounty runs, and twister DMO wizard is THE best damage in GRs currently.
It will be easier to gear the DH (UE or M6) while you are building an end-game wiz.
You could gear up a DH and then open your set bonus gifts with your wiz. Then you will have a viable firebirds and can work on a DOM wiz or whatever.
With the DH, you will be able to run T10 quickly and do things like farm shards/mats, level gems, etc to support building the wiz and if you are doing anything in the seasons journey you will need more than one class. WDs can also be a pain to gear (wouldn't start with one) but at least you can easily swap int rings, etc. with the wiz.
If you don't want to go with firebirds at all, would recommend opening the bonus set gifts on a sader since the invoker set dungeon is dead easy to master and you will need at least one mastered to get the stash space.
Ask for help if you need it, because a lot of folks are done with the seasons journey and are just looking for something to do.

It all depends on your game play. I enjoy wizard as it is durable to withstand GR's up to 80. When I play in public games over GR 70, and a DH is in the group, whenever I look, they are usually dead. They are way too squishy and their game play is designed to shoot from a distance away from enemies. Once you get hit, you are toast. I dont like this game play as I enjoy killing everything head on and being ablr to withstand damage. Wizard all the way for me, I would never even consider DH, although DH is fun to play, but not in GR's.

I am going to start playing Season 5 with a friend, we want to reach the "Conqueror" for the extra stash (not in a hurry).
I have not played much since 2.4 arrived so i do not know how the new/changed item sets actually perform.
Currently i am choosing between Wizard and Demon Hunter (my friend will probably go for a melee class).
What is your preference between these 2 classes for Season 5 and why?
Don't forget to vote in the poll above

Very nice replies and votes, please do keep them coming
both are good choices for season journey as they are easy to gear and the reward sets are quite nice for season achivement goals.
I made the mistake to start as a witch doctor. don't make that mistake ^^
