I have made a few posts regarding this bug on the official forums with no luck and next to zero visibility. It is a serious issue for the small player base that actually pushes the games limits on both Xbox1 and PS4. While I understand that some legendary gems don't level past 50 and some don't level past 100, there are some that go beyond 100 and reach the hardcap of 150. Bane of the Trapped and Bane of the Stricken are the two biggest dps increases and are hindering us on a massive scale.

Next to no views on the bug report forums and only a few people even posting in the console forums. I am afraid this issue won't get resolved unless there is more visibility which is why I am posting here. I come to this site at least once a day when I play D3 and I am sure others come here at least half that much when they play.
What can I do beyond the posts I have already made on the official forums and the post I have made here? The people I have been playing with on console (Xbox1) are starting to log in less and less now because at this point they have one less thing to grind for. I really enjoyed this game prior to this issue and now it seems like grinding paragon levels is a chore instead of being some enjoyment when I get home from work.
I appreciate anyone that reads and or responds to this thread. It will go a long way at putting my mind at ease to know that at least some others care.
Are you sure it's a bug? maybe they are intentionally capped at 100?
Why? When they are not capped on PC?
No idea... maybe to prevent abuse of mechanics (that could potentially crash the game) since on console people can easily run whatever GR they like with hacked items.
It was said in the patch notes that Legendary gems would get hard capped at 150 but no mention of a 100 cap for consoles only which makes it a bug, plain and simple.

No it doesn't, not technically. That could also be an undocumented change.
To clarify the issue, the patch notes on the PS4 (you can view them by selecting the options button and displaying the notes) clearly says gems are capped at 100, so it is not actually a bug. Rather, it is a very strange (and I think poor) design choice.
To further clarify, all previously boosted gems were "truncated down" to Level 150. In other words, legit gems can only be leveled to 100, but previously boosted gems all sit at 150.
I can only speculate, but if there was a bug at all, it is probably more likely related to the fact that the boosted gems got nerfed to 150 rather than 100, but that seems unlikely as well.
Anyway, as said I think it was a terrible choice given legit groups are pushing past 100. I've been part of a "non modded" group that has beaten 102 and has been chasing 103 for a couple of weeks now. Honestly, my best guess is that when the patch went live, Blizzard probably didn't think people were going to be able to push past 100, which I think demonstrates a lack of a deep understanding of their own game, or more specifically the potential of some of the builds they have defined.
I don't understand why console has to have a lower cap than PC does if that is the case. PC clearly has people leveling certain gems beyond 100 like Trapped and Stricken.
First important question - how did you get your legendary gems legal way to level 100 - if i remember correctly there's literally no1 with gems on PC with level over 100 - if you achieved it with hacks i see absolutely no problem...
What? Looked into the ladder lately?
But btt, while probably an oversight by Blizzard caused by capping of the gems as you already assumed, the ladders of console do not compete with the ladders of PC. So you still are on a fair ground, where everybody gets the equal chances.
And while I agree that it somehow takes away the motivation of trying higher rifts, thanks to augmentation farming still has a motivating factor. I don't think there is much to do except informing Blizzard, which you already have done, and hope they consider changing the caps on console.
It's a limit of the game due to the limits of the old technology in the X1/PS4.
It's one of two things, a troll or an idiot
It doesn't change that from being a fact, though.
Except it isn't a fact at all. As I stated already, you could level gems up past 100 last season also which means the system could and can "handle it". The only fact so far is that PC players can level their gems past 100 and console players can't. With the amazing changes that came with this patch to bring both PC and console closer together, this one really makes me forget about it all and nearly brings us back to where we started.

The patch never brought the versions closer together at all. The last major patch was for seasons and the potato version of the game doesn't even have seasons. You should be praising the efforts of the Bliz dev's instead of acting so heavily salted. They've done an amazing job as it is to just get the potato version of the game to do what it already can. It's not the dev's fault that they are working with such a basic and limited gaming platform.
They put a cap on gems lower than what the Pc version has. That has nothing to do with the games hardware limitations at all. They fixed NG and they gave the PC version the same arcade style in combat bonuses that the console versions have (kill streak, destruction and trap bonuses). So yes, they were bringing both versions closer together as far as in game mechanics go.
Hell, they even gave us the same amount of zombie dogs as PC version has.

No they didn't. They literally had to limit the number of dogs in the potato version to two less, because the potatoboxes couldn't handle the processing required to do it.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Originally the OLD consoles couldn't handle Diablo 3, this meant less enemies, this meant less dogs. Even though fetishes weren't affected. They did a terrible balancing job with old consoles, it was impossible to get past Inferno 3 without hax. Dont ask me why they brought the 2 dogs over to new consoles in the first place but they did, it has since been changed to match PC. ps4/x1/pc are almost exactly the same bar interface and seasons.
Please take your uneducated lying face away from here

I don't quite understand this.
Aren't you already pushing the limits? If the gems are capped.. you have pretty much reached the limit? You must find another way to improve. If everything is maximum.. I guess it is game over. Does it have to be infinite progression with nothing changing but boring monster scaling?
The next GR level will only increase mob hp and damage by X% which means the game doesn't really change at all. It is the same as hitting your head in GR80 some time ago when you still didn't have as many Plvl, as high gems etc.
I guess the limit is a sum of 4 things: Character Paragon level, Gem levels, the quality of items and augmentation levels.
You can put an equation of these: IF Plvl + Gem level + ItemQuality + Augments > GRX (mob hp and damage)
If true then you haven't reached the limit yet.
Of course there is the 5th random factor which is the GR RNG (pylons, mobs, density and map layout)

Except for the fact that you could raise gems past lvl 100 prior to this last major update which makes your statement invalid.
