Would you play single player first? Would you play multi-player first? Would you have a seizure from excitement? Would you faint, hit your head on a table edge and go into a coma and never get to play D3? Let loose your potentially embarrassing plans for the eventual day that there will be D3!
For me, I'm debating on single player first. Multi-player was always a great experience (assuming b.net noobs didn't jump in and harass me and my friends). However, I'm thinking I'll want to do this old school Diablo 1 style. Just about every D1 vet like me played single player first and beat the game before jumping on multi-player and thats how our lives were ruined. Thus it's fitting to continue the ruination with D3 single player first. Though I'm sure a lot of other players will immediately jump on multi-player.
Anyway, chime in on what you think you'll do the first thing you get your D3 disk! (beyond crying all over yourself as you install the game...we don't need to hear about that)
I'm with Zarwo. I'm a freak about reading manuals. My brother now has a 2 week old daughter, but I'm sure he'd abandon her for some quality multiplayer D3 time. She'll understand when she grows up and D4 is released in 10 years.
Watch trailer nearly every day while waiting for release? Yes.
Pre-order collector's edition? Yes.
Upgrade PC? Yes.
Take a week's vacation on release? Yes.
Prepare wife for imminent, yet temporary, neglect? Yes.
Read manual in detail while installing? Yes.
Shed a small man-tear due to the sheer awesomeness? Probably.
Lose much sleep in the next week? Definitely.
I will then go online, create a normal character and play through the game once in its entirety - explore every area, complete every quest, watch every movie, listen to the music in full surround... and just enjoy what ten years of waiting has brought. Then I will create a hardcore character and never look back on my way up the ladder! Then real life will come back and I will never actually have the best items or the highest level, but settle for somewhere in the middle.
i dont think i have ever read a manuial for a game.....but i might start with d3 lol
then play on bnet or whatever they come out with for online(Multi-player makes it X20 more fun) and you dont have to be a loser alone lol

I would then go multiplayer and reserve as many popular names as possible. Play the whole game on multiplayer, taking my time to enjoy it. Don't want to rush it. Enjoy the Diablo-style graphics and music. Eventually start my own guild and attempt to get the best items in the game.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
lol I still have my OLD Diablo 1 box from ages ago as well as my Hellfire, Diablo 2 collectors edition and the LOD box
I'll definitely drop the extra money for the collectors and have it sent to my doorstep. No sense waiting in a ridiculous line
My computer is already top of the line so I dont have to worry there (unless blizzard pulls an Oblivion )
As for the manual. I'll do what I did when I first got Diablo 1: use it as bed-time reading lol
I had to have read the D1 manual 5 million times because those stories were just that good.
Then I'm going to have to fabricate a viable story for work and loved ones that will allow me to stay home for at least a month Good thing I'm not in a relationship right now or I'd be screwed when D3 comes lol
I'll be so happy, I will.... grab my dick and double click for PORN PORN PORN!!!! :D:D:D

What is normal? Normal is a concept that everyone or a majority of people are the same or similar. However, we know that everyone is unique. If everyone is unique, then everyone is different. If everyone is different, then everyone is weird. If everyone is weird, then everyone is normal.
After getting the game at midnight of the release date I will:
1) drive 150mph the whole way home
2) return to my computer room which will already have itunes open playing the trist music on repeat
3) insert the download disc(s)
4) enjoy the unreal trist music until i can play on bnet!!
I will preorder the CE.. I don't think I've ever bought a CE of a game.. and this is a no-brainer.
I also will read everything I can while it installs.. once it does, will log into the multiplayer so I can experience the awesomeness with other players. It is gonna be incredible.
Considering the life span of the diablo franchise and the gap that will exist between d2 and d3 (nearly 8 years at this point), Do you think that there is enough excitement and hype around the franchise's continued development to keep it a king in the gaming community?
I'm specifically referring to the community outside of the diehard diablo fans that you will see on a site like this, I feel that the span between releases in the franchise could hold it back to some degree because of a dwindling excitement for the series. SC2 should be an obvious answer to this question seeing the reaction there, but my curiosity still wants to see what others think.
Do you guys think the Diablo name could get enough support for say..... a midnight release as a PC game? Just curious what the general consensus on a site like this would be.

IMO.. Starcraft 2 will have a midnight release, and so will Diablo III - as well as Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard are the king's of video games!

If it is good. If it's one thing Blizzard can improve, it's manual design.
Now Pharaoh on the other hand, that game had a good manual. 200 pages of raw info
its not supposed to be a nice game
autostats are rediclous
lack of pots is not welcome
if it aint broke dont fix it! (diablo2)
