If or when Diablo III is released. Will they go with the monthly free like is WoW or will they stick with the original free online. It has been around 6 years since the newest Diablo. Just wandering what you think?

A verbal mistake on a omnibus is a painful situation.
now the big question is will b.net have a small fee, like 4.99 or something to help maintain servers.. i think maybe people will cry about 5 bucks a month but imo its pennies and would probably do the games on b.net 2.0 good
Yes we do. Please make sure to search the forum for a specific thread topic you wish to address. If there are none available, then you can create your own thread. If we continue making threads about topics that have already been established, the forum would be flooded with information of the same topic.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
All I gotta say is if I'm forced to pay a monthly fee for the same style Diablo there better be some damned good results about bans for hacks, dupes, and bots as well as other illicit activities that Blizzard currently ignores for the most part. There had also better be constant updated content that is worth my money or I'm simply not going to pay.
I'll give Blizzard some credit though. They wouldn't be stupid enough to publish an RPG Diablo and then charge monthly for online play. They'll only do that for an MMO. But then again, Blizzard has proven everyone wrong before. Maybe they are as stupid as some of us think they are
If they are going to make you pay money than you better get a dedicated server.
Otherwise a program like battle.net is a match making program. Its like gamespy... but of course better. This is the way Diablo still needs to run. I for one don't want the same type of service as hellgate london. I find it a slight waste of time since i have to load all of the levels anyways. So on top of that im forced to also load a town as well to begin with.
I think i lost track of what i was talking about, but you get the point.
With all the money Blizzard has at the moment, I don't think they need to suck any more money out of us...
Actually, majority of the diablo fanbase transferred over to WoW. That is ALOT of people. Which means that blizzard will stop receiving monthly fees if they create Diablo 3. So, they would have to put a monthly fee.
IMO, they should make D3 like D2, with user servers and a server list. It is perfect.

Why would Blizzard charge 5$, when they rack in 15$ a month from over 11 million people....
HELL, who cares if WoW drops to 5 million, even that is a killling amount of money. Why should blizzard care if people switch over to one of there other games?
I wouldn't mind paying at all. If Diablo 3 is a pay to play game then they need to prevent and stop the hacks, duping, botting, and things like that which has kept WoW running pretty smoothly for the most part. Content updates I would like to see about every month, even if it is to tweak some things like items, skills, ect.
Starcraft 2 will probably be out in the next year(hopefully) and on a new Battle.net. If that works I don't see why Diablo 3 wouldn't be able to work on there. I think Starcraft 2 working there will be a good sign for Diablo 3, if they go the normal RPG route with it.
I'm going to say no. Not because I'm cheap. I've had as many as three MMO accounts at once. Because then the developers start to do things they may not agree with in order to keep from losing customers. It will also make Blizzard put things into the game that aren't necessarily fun, but designed to make you play the game longer.
$5/month is not worth it and they won't do that.
Why?
It would be only good if everyone had a creditcard. Excluding those who dont have access to one would be a blatant mistake business wise, while on the other hand it's not worth making a gamecard for something as cheap as $5.
They wouldn't make $5 gamecards. WoW doesn't even do that.
They'd do it probably by 2 or 3 months. That's be $10 or $15. It only takes like 10 cents if that to make the things.
People who complain about a $5 fee make me laugh. That's a laughably low amount of money for a fee for an online game. It's not like you not playing it is going to hurt blizzard, thousands more will play.
Monthly fee... thats why im not playin at Wow anymore.... since im not at my computer 24-7 Sometimes Im not playin enough in 1 month. So at the end of the year I would have paid 180$ and played for only 90 or 100$ ... this money could have been used somewhere else. So I hope it will be free!!!
I am hoping there is some sort of monthly fee, and that the fee goes towards eliminating dupes, hacks, etc and ongoing content. I have also found that free online games are often filled with more undesirables (a.k.a BNET kiddies) than pay to play games. However, I would be happy with a model similar to Diablo2, if it means that game is actually coming out
