Wow watching that I legitametly got goosebumps and I don't know why.. The fact they talk about Diablo3 on tv, or the fact that this site has so much impact on the "news" of Diablo3.... amazing

Why would anyone feel ashamed to not donate? And don't use reverse psychology, please. Donating to this guy to go to Paris is about the same as donating your money to the trashcan.
Im guessing that they are very appreciative of all that MD has done over the years and his reporting to let us know what he knows. Not to mention him poking at the Blizzcast officials to ask some devs a question. If I had any money I would gladly donate but being a student and having spare cash is always a problem. ( Maybe I should have people donate me money )
Since Blizzard doesn't appear to be stupid, at least to me, it also seems to be that they understand the implications of gaining the diablo3.com domain name.
I think this is the most critical thing here. Whether or not one feels the countdown was justified may depend on what they believe the implications of Blizzard acquiring the domain name was. I'm one of the ones who happen to think it's kind of a big deal that they chose to do this at this time, thus warranting some hype. The countdown didn't bother me just because I knew it wasn't a game announcement, so I figured if it wasn't that, the announcement at the end of the countdown would only be something indirectly related to an actual game announcement.
But maybe the countdown didn't bother me also because either way I wasn't getting my hopes up too much. But I think Medieval did a fine job of not getting anyone hopes up too much. Him stating very clearly what the announcement wasn't was enough for me not to get too excited. Piqued my interests, yes. But I certainly wasn't foaming at the mouth over anything.
And about the whole donating thing, seriously people, like Phrozen said, the beauty of donating is it's entirely optional. I'm not trying to stop anyone from saying why they don't want to donate either. I'm just concerned that the people's stated reasons will fall into a trolling pattern.
And about the whole donating thing, seriously people, like Phrozen said, the beauty of donating is it's entirely optional.
And the ugly thing about donating is that if you don't donate (even if it's for a shitty thing that you know is pointless) you still feel bad about it at the end of the day.

He was refering to Med of course.

I'm calling bullshit. The countdown was designed to get the forum's hopes up. And if it wasn't then he surely failed at not getting anyone's hopes up. (Not refering to an announcement of Diablo 3, but anything in general that would make half the internet link to Diablo3.com.)

Except the part where your made to feel guilty for not donating, right? Oh and if you dissagree then of course your a troll, right?

Riding the same boat, are we? The timing may prove impecable, and from what I read of other acquisitions of Diablo related domains, this one seemed somewhat different. Blizzard gave us enough time to pull off a full move, and is officially taking over the domain in June, so close to WWI. Similarities to last year's developents of events prior to SC2's announcement are absolutley mindboggeling. Nuff said, if I had any more fingers, they would be crossed too, but as it is at the moment, we are still emptyhanded.
I admit it is wierd that they gave us time after getting our site. (Granted it was probably because of some kind of contract written up between Mockery and Blizzard. (Not saying because of money, because nobody knows if money was given or recieved. Just saying that a contract or agreement was mostly used. Blizzard is not a fool after all.) )

Very true. I have to admit, it took me some time to believe in some of the stuff Medival has mentioned. A few days to be exact, when he first asked us what questions we had for Knaak, only to find that he really did have a chance to interview him. He is always keeping us up to date with new revelations within the francise, from Comic Book fairs all the way to the upcoming WWI.
And talking to Knaak or going to Comic Book fairs then telling us about it is VERY different then talking to a Blizzard representative about something then coming back and saying "I don't want to ruin my relationship with Mr. X, so I can't tell you about the interview, just that it was amazing!"

In my eyes, theres no better person to send, and I actually feel guilty I didn't donate because I am always interested what Medival has to say.
I think that someone like Jetrall or Elfen or someone like that would be a better person to send myself.
I guess I am just an ass though, considering I am thinking for myself. Then again, most people who think for themselves are looked down upon.
The countdown was designed to get the forum's hopes up.
Designed to?

Is it possible you just took him too literally when he said half the internet?

Well, I guess this is just one of those things that we'll have to wait and see, no?

But why? Medieval has experience with this kind of thing. He even got Knaak to answer a question that I had written. That was pretty damn cool.

Dear friend. I do not think this at all. I'm only trying to understand you better on this.
They didn't initiate the countdown. Mockery/Umaro did. Big difference there. I'm sure Blizzard didn't give two hoots about the countdown.
Thats plain ignorant, I'm sorry. You are just a sadist. You don't think there was some amount of planning behind all this? You don't think Blizzard picked that particular day for a reason? All this right before a WORLD WIDE INVITATIONAL with no real purpose on another significant Diablo day. Are you blind or stupid, I'd rather like to know (of course if you are reading this it must be the latter).

Lol? Rofl?
If it was June 1st, then hell yes it was Blizzard. But May 1st? I can't see Blizzard choosing May 1st. That just isn't Blizzard-esque.
I believe Linkx wants to argue/flame, just to do that - he must be bored out of his mind.
I donated to Medievaldragon because he has done an amazing job bringing us info to keep the fire in us alive - and when the WWi comes around - I believe Medievaldragon is the best person able to go there to aquire information to bring back to us.
June is going to be an amazing month.. I can feel it.
Well we all expect Blizzard to announce a game. If it is set in stone that they must announce something new.. What else would they be doing besides this game or Original Content?
