I want almost like a High Def version of Diablo 2, into won't be Diablo 3 without the Feel of a Diablo game. And of course with walking improvments and fighting animation improvments, but nothing to crazy...
Edit: Also it would be nice to fit my resolution, 1920 x 1200. Or just better Resolution coverage in general.
I just want better graphics in general. Titan quest looks to be what i'd like

A darker high-definition 3d version of Diablo 2 with better animation and effects sounds best to my ears.
meh it will be wat it will be. Although it will be better then D2 for sure

I really don't want the game to look like any of the listed titles, other than Diablo II. But I don't want it to look like that either. Just keep the art direction and increase the graphics quite a bit and there ya go. That's what we all want, right? I'm not including things like camera view and all of that, which is a discussion that should be reserved for its own topic. There's probably a topic covering that. I don't understand the poll at all. What is it really asking?
Take a minute to think how much that will be a performance drain.
I'll be happy if it used something like the Titan Quest engine. That game looks OK and doesn't kill my computer.
I second that idea

Unfortunately Equinox, nothing lasts forever.
On the other side, Blizzard hasn't been overly taxing on performance wiith any of their titles.
Yet, Diablo holds a special place, so I would imagine it to be all that they can make it be.
I have to admit that possibly one of the very few things that would make me spend cash on my PC is Diablo 3, and so I could not refuse the offer of it being visually mindblowing.
Everything has it's limits of course, it just depends how far you are prepared to push.

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Just keep the art direction and increase the graphics quite a bit and there ya go.
As all things, the perception of art changes. It changes however because of the perception of the people who view it. While one may create something beautiful in it's own right, another may even by attempting to attenuate it, and by doing so not revealing his creation, lessen the effect it would otherwise have.
What I'm trying to say is that this thread infact should serve only as a guideline, as crude as it was meant to be. Things are seen with a collective eye, but we draw conclusions in private. The term graphics is somewhat vague to admit, it needs further classification to attain proper meaning.
Leaving that aside, I feel that they should create to the fullest of their abilities. To follow a strict guideline from Diablo 2 would cripple the flow of D3 in it's own. Of course it has to follow certain rules or it would otherwise feel alien to us, unfarmiliar. Here's where the magic happens. Or the confusion if you will. When all is still, there is nothing new, only by influencing it does it move further on and change. If it stays the same I won't like it, for I have changed since then as well. It only gains it's true meaning to those who are able to understand it, to those who are there at the time to feel it. To us. But it isn't something that is lost in time so to say, and that's why I love it. It will be locked in this state and expression for others to view and draw conclusions from it.
And that is why I joined this forum in the first place, to make an impact of 'somekind' on it's developement. It is not of my primary concern as there are things more real that are more important to me so I cannot give more of my time and energy than this, but I do hold it dear to me.

Beethoven does. I can name a lot of things that are still considered great by people who matter.

Diablo holds the same place as any other Blizzard game. Also, Diablo is not graphics. It's gameplay. 100 monsters per window is more important for Diablo than 5 hyper modeled, awesomely shaded monsters...

The limit to where you can push is very small, especially for Blizzard. They are not experienced in final limit graphics. Graphics programmers do not grow on trees. You can't push anywhere with programmers, either.
I think atleast Neverwinter Nights 1 graphics and at best that of Oblivion. Crap....I haven't played baulders gate 2.
Baldur's Gate II is an awesome game.
No one wants to suggest any new games or submit new images for amendments to the poll?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
basically, I want the graphical detail of an oblivion-like game, mixed with the perspective and play style of Diablo, and that it somehow captures that magic that Diablo 1 had with the balance of "Graphics, Sound, and Setting (tone of the game)." That is what was lacking so much in Diablo 2 which was the tone of the game. At no point in the game, except maybe in hell, did I feel like the game was on par with the feel of Diablo 1. Nor was I scared at any point in the game which was a real let-down. I never got that heart pounding "OMG I'm surrounded by 30 monsters and I'm about to get fucked!" It was just "Oh...I got raped by a cow...oh well, lets get my corpse..." I also liked the full-on hardcore mode of Diablo 1. It was perfectly balanced that you can go through the entire game and not die if you're smart, but if you're stupid, you'll die and die and die....that and if you died, you had to revert to your last save point. D2, oh lemme just get my corpse...no, you had to remember to save or if you did something stupid and got boned, you might be unlucky enough to have to go and clear another dungeon or two. And before you say "there's hardcore mode" Diablo 2 is so freaking unbalanced I'm not even going to stress over hardcore mode...just what I need is to get raped by an overpowered immune everything monster or die thanks to server instability.
And ya...I just played through Diablo 1 again this week end and I did get scared a couple times (not expecting to get my ass handed to me at key points...monsters jumping out from no where while I was distracted looking at my gear...you know, that stuff). But I gotta say, I had the time of my life. I forgot just how fun Diablo 1 was and I reallllllllllly hope that Diablo 3 can capture that again. lol it should be required for the developers to play Diablo 1 every day before they get to work lol

I agree with you.. I got to say one thing, I felt like being retarded earlier today and go on you tube to look at fake diablo 3 trailer's, and I saw one that was almost believable, it was a bunch of bits taken from Kingdom Under Fire; Circle Of Doom, and certain of the parts I saw, I felt, truely belonged in a Diablo Universe.. So I'm just saying if we are comparing diablo 3 to what graphics of a game it should belong to, i say it should resemble KUF; circle of doom, the feel of it, through what I've seen through fake d3 trailers could work with d3, it's dark.
Id say the old Diablo 2 graphic for sure. Why try to fix something thats not broke, really. Go with something that you know will work and work flawlessly. Old graphics for sure, hands down. They may not be the top of the line, but thats the point. The game shines through gameplay and not nessassarily through graphics. Dont get me wrong, the graphics were good but not top of the line, which I cared less about. Bare with me plz, Im fairly new to fourms all together.
I have to change a preference, I really like NWN. So D3 would be cool to take a look at its graphic engine

I want it to be more like Gothic 3-4's but oh well Neverwinter Nights have great graphics so i guess that would do but if they have better than yea i'd love this game!
D1 graphics are somehow better than D2.There's just something diferent about it that I seem to like?
Yeah, from what I can remember the characters were more solid even when you had the game full screen. I don't remember blurring in that game . I hate it when stuff like that happens
