Don't you hate it when that happens. Kinda like a pure cold sorc. Most uniques seem to be cold immune.
I remember when they redid Hell mode, now at least a set of monsters will be immune to any build, except smite/hammer I believe... always need at least 2-3 people around if you wana kill everything and not die.. like lightning sorcs when them burning souls are around, bet you feel useless lol
I had a pretty good barb and I loved to kill the burning souls while everyone else got one shot lol burning souls sure did ruin a game if every got killed when going into the portal to throne
I really liked that Diablo 1 had all these weird items, tho. I once got this bow which had like 0-70 fire damage. I just owned the whole game with it. Mind you, my class was Warrior. But, then, a disaster strikes. I come to that place in Hellfire where the bugs live, you know. And they all have fire immunity... and the bow had no real damage... so I had to go back and buy some crappy weapon...
The Staff of Apocolypse was my weapon of choice in D2. That and Plate of the Whale and some Vampiric Sword of the Bat.
Man Apocolypse owned.... Killed everything on the screen.

Yeah, made the last few stages easy for the Warrior, without it, it sucked to kill everything, they all ran away from you, and you're like, get back here! *walks to the monster because for some reason he can't job or sprint or anything!*
LarryNC, you didn't answer my question. How many times? once? twice? Is the customer support worth 15 bucks a month like you say?? I'm not gonna pay for insurance on a damn game.
People who complain that kiddies are the problem don't get it. Kiddies arn't the one creating the hacks, or making the spam bots. Kiddies are the ones who trade their SOJ for 1 hr.
Yes, it was a big dissapointment that Diablo 2 wasn't as dark as Diablo 1. Good thing the gameplay made up for it.
nah. i believe that the impact of D3 is gonna be huge. Like, the difference between Diablo (first one) and Diablo II: LoD. Just look at this website. That's just from people that wanna talk about a new D; when none has been announced "officially" . lol.
But, dmy. It will be as good as it is addictive. that much i kno.
Oh, I've contacted in game support alot and its great, as well as the other benefits you get for paying 15 a month. I would just like to tell you that even if someone does not like monthly fees on MMO's, its like car insurence and gas - if you want to drive the car, you have to pay for the insurence and gas, and that goes with MMO's too. Non-MMO's don't require fees because they require less maintenance and such, and I will not get into it anymore, this is a Diablo thread about how the original poster thinks Blizzard will fail, which in my opinion is completely false.
Anything I said about kiddies is just my opinion and I just don't like them around, because immaturity gets old fast, thats all, and I do know there are some kids that are rather mature, which I see on these forums which I think is great.
Don't worry, Diablo III and Starcraft II won't have monthly fees - if they make an MMO in their universe though, they will.
I sure as hell hope Diablo III has the world of the first Diablo ( Dark and gothic-like, and going into scary dungeons like crazy) and the gameplay of Diablo II, oooh that will be great.
The one cool thing about all the games Blizzard has made is the incredible replay value in them, especially Diablo!
Yes, Diablo 1 has good replayability. It's actually better than D2's. I replay D2 just to collect shit. I replay Diablo 1 because it's a very immersive game with its dark ambiance and great storyline.
Diablo 2 has a good storyline as well, but the ambiance just doesn't feel as rich as in the first one.

Yeah, the first Diablo was incredible! I wish they would bring back to super deep dungeons.. Diablo II was great too, but after the first act it just wasn't as good. A game called Dungeon Runners from NCSoft reminded me of Diablo a bit since it had some long dungeons and such. After reading this thread title - I know Blizzard won't screw up, but I hope they don't screw up in the regards to the first Diablo - I want it to be very dark and gothic and hope it's more like that one, and I hope they don't mess that up, but I believe they will do what they think is best.
actually that hell unleashed mod for D2 is awesome, I know I've said this a couple times but it makes the game more like D1 and it's also more difficult and is slightly larger which is nice.
I'm sure the things HU has offered have definitely been noticed by Blizzard, they know how to make great games and have for sure learned what people want in the next game, by far they are the most knowledgeable and they should be, that is why they aren't going to screw up D3.

I know I've said it a thousand times already, but my money is still on a prequel.
A prequel would be freakin awesome! - what do you think the story line would be? I'm not done with the books and such so I'm a little fuzzy, is the Sin War before Diablo I, or is it after Diablo II LoD? - I know Sin War is an eternal war, but which would fit the sin war the best?

The Sin War books take place quite some time before the first Diablo. I could be wrong, but there is some dialogue from Cain is Diablo 2 when he mentions how long ago the Soulstones were given to the Horadrim. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was about 300 years ago. And the Sin War books take place even before that. How far back I'm not sure.
But so far at least the in first two Sin War books, there has been no mention of the Horadrim. So that should give you some idea about when it all takes place.
*edit*
Here's the dialogue I was looking for. So I was fairly close...." The Archangel Tyrael was the one who gave the Soulstones to the Horadrim two hundred and sixty years ago."
Prequel, or Sequel, it will rock! - Really hope after all of this they do release their "next-gen" mmo to be Diablo, Heaven versus Hell is just so, insanely awesome. I'm still not sure if I wana be the good guy or the badass! =P

I agree - plus they aren't MMO's =P I'm glad they won't charge for B.net v2.0.

In which time period would your prequel take place?
Before D2?
Before D1?
Some other time?
