that before they announced WoTLK.
With the teams Blizzard has its really nothing to add another game. They'll be having everyone's attention in the GC with an announcement like Diablo 3, especially in the middle of the Diablo-loving Europe. Nothing's certain, but theres definitely a chance. Till now i never expected Blizzard to announce 2 projects in the same year... one more wouldnt harm them.
good point. i think blizzard could pull off so many announcements, and doing so will keep their communities completely occupied by going to the sites and looking for updates. i myself am not a SC2 addict, but i do check the website at least once every two days to see what's new. and i also check the WotLK site to see what else is going into it. but for Diablo, i would probably go 10 times a day. not only would they be getting millions of hits every day, they would be giving everyone what they want, and keeping the pc gaming community's eye fixed on them for quite a while.
i would say 50% didnt Paul Sams say another game in development on the interview in blizzcon 2007. he said other than Diablo so it might be another franchise dont you think. I think they will make a new franchise but very close to Diablo.
Why would they announce D3 in Germany and not 3 weeks earlier at home? I can't believe anyone actually thinks they will announce D3 at a Germany gaming conference. There will be no mention of D3. If they wanted to make an impact with an announcement, they would have done it at Blizzcon, since it is their conference.
Just like in Korea, Starcraft is VERY popular, Germany, Diablo is VERY popular. The Leipzig Games Convention is much bigger than Blizzcon, and will have a different variety of gamers, not just Blizzard fans. They will have an opportunity to make one of the biggest announcements, at one of the biggest conventions. Trust me, its better to announce it in Germany, than at Blizzcon.
It's not as popular there as it is here in the states. Even if it is "bigger than Blizzcon", it's still a German based conference, which means very little American coverage. I know when E3 is, I had never heard of this event until 3 weeks ago. They did announce SC2 in Korea, since that is where it is most popular, but I don't think they would do that to American fans with Diablo.
Europes diablo 2 servers are almost full its more popular over there

You mean all two Blizzcon's? I belive they announced an expansion to WoW at each of them.
But the truth is there. There is no hype about this.
People just realized GC just a few days ago. Blizzard would be stupid to announce a huge Diablo game there.
Only hype we have right now is just that www.diablo3.eu keeps changing. That's pretty much it, and maybe that's all the hype they will give. Any more hype and it's guaranteed to be a Diablo game.

Or there are less servers over there. Almost half of all Diablo sales were from the states.

StarCraft: Ghost - was this announced prior to BlizzCon 2005?
WoW Wrath of the Lich King
Ghost was LONG before BlizzCon 2005.
Edit: Just checked, was announced in 2002.
