In my opinion, you don't have to splash blood everywhere as much as you can (though I enjoy those puddles the Fallen make when they die). Keep it moderate.

Oh and this is a MUST: NO SMALL ANNOYING CREATURES. GOD! Those little things in the end of Act 1, & ACT 3. Those little buggers made me HATE (with a passision) ACT 3. I don't care how easy they are to kill, they are annoying to HELL.

I'm glad you brought this topic up, because I was thinking about it today. I really do not like the "instant" puddles that the monsters leave once they are dead. I think it would be cool to have sprays of blood that spash on the ground/walls and your armor. Then when they are dead on the ground, then they slowly leak out blood, slowly forming a dark red puddle. I also think a couple "spurts" from their wounds should be emitted before they die.
Well, that's not exacly what I advocated, but I have to agree. More realism is always good. Though that is perhaps a dreadful thing to say. I fear for the day when realism gets so good you can't tell the difference between game and reality. That will be the day that I no longer play computer games.

There should also be skeletons that are able to wield huge weapons like a maul or a big axe. The sycthes they have are ok but a skeleton coming at you with a huge maul. dude.

If I could pick anything to include in D3, it would, withot a doubt, be to be able to achieve the status and become an Arch-angel like Tyrael. Man, has there ever been a cooler character in the history of gaming? (Well, maybe one, but second place definately goes to Tyrael).

yes that is true. but diablo has always been humans, having humans only as palayable chars in d3 makes sense.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Blablabla. No matter what you think, that would be great
Ok, so to implement it better, humans serving Heaven fervently could perhaps be granted a gift, such as minor angelic powers (or major if you prefer). This could be done through a questline, where the people heading the good way get angelic powers, and the heroes heading the bad way get demonic powers and attributes.

it is an awesome idea, this i do not deny, but diablo has always been about the battle between Heaven and Hell and its unfluence on man. not any other race or half breeds. i would prefer diablo stay with human only playable chars, angels should be NPCs only.

If there is a dark & light in the game, be able to tell when the game swtiches from day->night->day->night->day->night, etc. Couldn't really tell in Diablo 2. Now if it's somewhat like WarCraft II Reign of Chaos; a little image somewhere on the screen showing a moon or the sun.
I see what you've saying Elfen Lied, but if the conflict is to erupt now that the barrier between the worlds is weakened, wouldn't it be logical that both Heaven and Hell will want to empower their surrogates in Sanctuary? At least in a minor way I would think.
Day and night existed in D2, but it was such a minor difference most of the time. I would like Blizzard to expand upon that, and having real nights, not some half-gloomy afternoon.

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
I wonder why. The voice in my head tells me that it is because people would be pissed of if it suddenly turned night and they couldn't see anything, but they did after all make it dark during the Claw Viper quest. Hmm...

Talking about realism. How about some non-related features into the game like in Grand thelf Auto.
Let me explain.
You get to save an Indian camp and the camp leader offer you his daugther in wedding. Then whenever you come back to the camp. You take one of your wifes to the tent and fills up your energy and mana but drops your stamina
Whoho, I can already see the parents of America harassing Blizzard and suing them if that was implemented.
Seriously though, that has nothing to do with D2. It's about hacking demons. Besides, I wonder who would like to marry a bloodstained freak obsessed with death and covered in full plate?
