now i know this following post may seem idiotic and pointless to some people but this is how i feel about names like flashfglkdsfhklghlsg and klgjsklgskldghs
it might just be me and it probably is, but i cant stand names like X9NOOBA46, dlklsdjflk or names that are better suited as account names like XXX.IMAPWNU.XXX. , HellNooB, XLAWONE, NOOBIEMASTER and names of that nature
again it could just be me but i prefer names that dont seem quite as made up of the spot, i like the kind of names you would find in a Fantasy novel, as they are usually quite fitting for a diablo character.
to get some such cool names you guys could try sveral things such as;
-using the syllables 'ch' as in bach, 'dh' as in galadh, 'f' at the ends of names where it is pronounced as a 'v' as in Gandalf, 'i' at the start of a name, pronounced like a 'y' as in Ioreth, and things of that nature.

X of course being a name of your choosing -or or giving you char a monster bane name like X Trollbane, X Wolfbane, simply choose a monster and add 'bane' after it X of course being a name of your choosing
-names that include words like Grim, Reaper, Skull, Cleaver, Angel, Knight, Soul, Blood, storm are usually always good -as are names containing the words Eorl, Lord, Sir, Baron, Depending on the Titles one receives from the game. (hopefully you get my point the Patriarch Lord Throm'kar, sounds pretty bad ass)
-use of words that refer to your chars class such as;
if they are a relgious sort of a class the prefix 'Father' or 'Brother' can be put to good use
if they are a thief of sorts the suffix 'the Corsair' or 'the Assassin'
if they are a magic caster of sorts the suffix 'the mage' or the prefix 'The mage' can be quite effective as in Tal Rasha the Mage or alternatively The Mage Tal Rasha. (ok its a bit long as seems weird if his class is Mage but it does have a nice ring to it
-using the angel/demon name convetions 'rael' as in Tyrael or Azrael
-using the angel/demon name convetions 'riel' as in Hadriel or Gabriel
-or giving you char a Norse first name that starts with a J as in Jorgen, or Jorgan, or Jormungand -or giving you char a Norse last name, like X Gurnison, X Gloinson or X Durinson, simply take one name and 'son' after it X of course being a name of your choosing -use of the Norse syllable 'heim' as in Hohenheim, Mordheim, Heimdall -use of the Norse syllable 'Rag' as in Ragnor, Ragnar -use of the Norse syllable 'roth' as in Hrothgar, Korgoth, Gorgoroth, Naggaroth, -use of the Norse syllable 'rok' as in Ragnarok, or Zarok -use of the Norse syllable 'Thor' as in Thorin, Thora, and obviously Thor

-using German naming conventions like ‘Von’ as in X Von Carstein or X Von Richtofen or X, simply take a name and add 'Von' infront of it X of course being a name of your choosing -using the German naming convention 'stein' as in Carstein -using the German/Dutch naming convention 'mann' as in X Horstmann X of course being a name of your choosing -using Dutch naming conventions like 'Van' as in X Van Hellsing or X Van Horstmann X of course being a name of your choosing
-use of the French syllable 'mont' as in Belmont, Freemont, Dumont -use of the French syllable 'La' as in La Hire -use of the French syllable 'Le' as in Le Fleur -use of the French syllable 'esque' as in Fortesque
-use of the French word 'de' meaning of as in de Lusignan
-use of the French word 'grand' prononced 'gran' as in Basque Grand

-use of the English syllable 'wain' or rather ‘ain as in Gawain, Dwain, Lain, Bain
-use of the English syllable 'ian' as in Balian, or Tristian or Ian

[well thats how i come up with my names for chars for the various games i play, mostly RPG in nature]
well that should help, you come up with some good ideas.
i really cant stand names like X9NOOBA46, dlklsdjflk or names that are better suited as account names like XXX.IMAPWNU.XXX. , HellNooB, XLAWONE, NOOBIEMASTER and names of that nature

Sometimes i go for cool names like u guys are suggesting but alot of the time i go for names that when u first see them u almost piss ur pants its so funny lol.

yeh i do this on accasions as well, but i try to keep it legible like, Dick Army (or something)
my intention with this thread was simply personal, i (and i may not be alone) have a disliking to names that look and sound like gibberish gjsgjg, igsgtlg, sdvs;jlgf i really cant stand these names. I know not everyone has the same taste in names, ok they are original but still there arent exactly to most heroic sounding names in the world, where are the names like Thorgar, Wulfgar and Sloutgar.

but i like how japanese people names like:
korenai
senjie
kanai
uri-sama
kaski
nibu
etaka
kaminaru-san
zenkie-kun
kirara
akira-sama
kai-ju
but for some reason the name "a-juggernaut"
i know for some of you it seems pretty common but less of you had or have seen names like this in d2lod. but, yeah you might seen the name already but not the right spelling which gives juggernaut a slaped in the face to have them misspelled it.
but i do have a char with names started with "a" for example my zons name
"a-nutcase" ...hehehe... imagine bout that in duel.
elfen_lied was slaind by a-nutcase <----isn't that unique? ^.^
or
elfen_lied was slained by a-juggernaut <---now that's something right there.
sorry elfen, gotta use ur name for an example but who knows maybe one day we'll meet in the battle field sorounded with hostility for the fight of honor.

damn, i was a bit hasty making a pure SICK char, so my char is named xSICKx_blahblahblah. point im getting to is that i think you should be able to name your char whatever you want AFTER you get the SICK into your name. what bothers me the most was that after about a 2 week period where ppl thought xSICKx was fine, they thought SICK was enuff. im not blaming anyone, but i think we should put an end to the guild prefix for names. ill be opening a thread to choose between xSICKx and just SICK. imho (in my humble opinion), it doesnt matter. what it comes down to is recognition. other ppl read xSICKx and SICK and think we are different, but we are not. what comes after SICK doesnt really matter, if only we know whats going on, its fine.
Guild tags are for account names not char names. you can use them in char names if you want but it severely impacts on the number of characters left to use for their name.
and the tag is xSICKx.
